Re: No icons at top of window

I'm very sorry to bother you. I've been away for a few weeks. It did not occur to me to use the VIEW menu to show toolbars. All is working.

Re: No icons at top of window

My new iMac has a built-in display, but I also have a second screen which is VGA. The problem is the same on both screens.

No icons at top of window

I've been away from FreeCAD for a few weeks. In the meantime, I bought a new Mac with a new OS X (10.14.14). My old version 0.18 of FreeCAD that worked before had issues .... the selection rectangle did not match the position I clicked. And, the icons at the top of the window were all gray. So I dow...

Re: Transfer sketches from one datum plane to another?

#1: Make the Origins of the body visible, click a plane from them, now create the datum plane. It will be attached to that plane and can be OffSet with all options . So simple! I did not know that you could assign the datum plane this way. I have been selecting the datum plane with nothing selected...

Re: Transfer sketches from one datum plane to another?

I am unable to create datum planes that are not XY unless they're related to a face of an object. If I create a new document and draw a cube, then add a datum plane, I can attach it to any face. But if I try to attach it to an origin plane, whether I choose XY, XZ, or YZ, they all appear in the XY p...

Re: Transfer sketches from one datum plane to another?

Thanks. Are you referring to the slot in Sketch006? It does not go through all, so can't be drawn with the mounting holes. And, I thought I had learned that it was always risky to apply sketches to face planes. At least whenever I do, I run the risk that they'll end up in some screwy other plane. I ...

Transfer sketches from one datum plane to another?

I've drawn a handful of shapes on a datum plane and then realized that I'd be better off to use a PartDesign Thickness as a base for the shapes. My datum plane is referenced to the top of the pad that disappears when I apply Thickness. I can't seem to re-reference or move the datum plane, and I can'...

Re: Usability issues with MacOS

Thanks for your help - it's a shame but I have to say that freeCAD seems pretty unusable on MacOS. Is it mainly developed for Windows? As a Mac user who has struggled with FreeCAD, I can tell you it works very well indeed. In the beginning there are many frustrations. Hell, there still are. But in ...

Re: Unable to apply pocket to imported draft

Thank you!

I didn't know the face would hide new features. There's no need to even keep the Face is there?
