Re: Preferences- Number of backup files to save?

It's kind of arbitrary so I pick 20. I know in 0.16 and 0.17 it used to be set to 20. It was changed to a 1 sometime in the late 0.18 development, not sure when. With restarting FreeCAD during a problem I don't think this should be set below 10. This is for a feature request. just my 2cents Please ...

I am talking only about the bundles, so no there should be no problem (as we discussed in the past). It's the same as if you install solvespace + asm3 via a package-manager. We only have to make sure the licences are also bundled.

Re: Assembly3 preview

Yes exactly. We can remove the bundled asm3 if asm3 is fully supported via addonmanager. But as asm3 depends on solvespace and solvespace is a compiled package (depending on specific python version, and other libraries) I would like to keep solvespace as a package in the bundle (appimage). But doin...

asm3 is installed as a site-package in something like lib/pythonx.y/site-packages/freecad/asm3. After some testing some time ago I came to the conclusion that overwriting the bundled asm3-package is not possible.
oh, I see.
So only 1. for normal users. :(

Re: Assembly3 preview

That's it unless you want to generate your own AppImage, and that's what we're talking about. It requires running Conda and some other sorcery. OK, thanks for the clarification. So I got that we have two choices to get python updates from realthunder into main branch FreeCAD for testing: 1. stable ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

It should show a version-number (0.10.2) and a build-number (py_4). That's the latest package uploaded. But this is not immediately available within the appimage as the appimage is build only once a day. Where can I download these daily appimages? The only place I know for getting AppImages is here...

Re: Assembly3 preview

You can check if you are using this version by: export DEBUG=1 ./FreeCAD_<..>.AppImage and look for freecad.asm3 . It should show a version-number (0.10.2) and a build-number (py_4). That's the latest package uploaded. But this is not immediately available within the appimage as the appimage is bui...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Question to the AppImage Team: - when realthunder makes an update, is there a way for updating the Assembly3 in the AppImage? Or is the AppImage updated on a regular schedule using the newest Github version? - how can I check which version of Assembly3 is running in my AppImage (i.e. something I can...

Re: ShapeBinder Question

On the other hand, I created a second target body with local coordinates parallel to the original, and then the projection of the shapebinder face is correct. Also the hole can be projected and its dimensions copied in Sketcher. See attached file. I do not know why or how you managed to turn the co...
