Re: mesher: what does option "Two-side rendering"

This preferences section has up to 3 tabs: Thanks, I clarified this now. The other preferences on the linked page are general settings, while workbench specific settings are rather documented on an own page (e.g. Draft) or on the workbench's page (e.g. sketcher). You may consider handling mesh pref...

Thank you for documenting this!
Thanks.
Here is the documentation: https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Prefere ... #Mesh_view
I also made a PR to add missing tooltips in the masher display settings dialog.

Re: sketcher: fun with trimming

I have tried to simplify the sketch and was able to reduce it just to the line and the arc Many thanks. With this simple example it is easier to play with. It seems there is no simple way to avoid this effect. I played a bit and cannot find one. But that the order of the creation is important (firs...

Re: Back port commits to 0.18 branch

To me 4017 seems worth to be backported. I have again a proposal 8-) : I notice that bugs are immediately closed when the fix is in master. I think it would be good to keep them open until the fix was released or at least until it is also backported. Users affected by a bug might search if it is a k...

Re: sketcher: fun with trimming

That explains a bit more and introduces a new variable. Personally it wouldn't bother me in the least if FreeCAD stopped supporting that closed source format, but that's a subject for a new topic. Well, you never work alone. There are many CAD programs around and the most common file format is for ...

Re: mesher: what does option "Two-side rendering"

If it's on then the bottom side of the surface will be rendered the same way is the top side. If it's off then it depends on the setting of the backlight color (under Display > 3D view). If it's enabled the defined color will be used, otherwise it's black. Many thanks. In I will document this later...

Re: How to use main axes or datums as direction for applied forces

The request you created is mainly about the direction parallel to the selected axis(that's what i read at least). Would it be possible to extend the request to add planes too? But when selecting a plane the the force direction is normal to/ perpendicular to the plane... This is a very useful propos...

Re: tooltip revision project

either should be changed using the word "application" instead of "FreeCAD" Good to know. I saw there several existing occurrences of hardcoded 'FreeCAD' in existing tooltips thus I did not thought it needs to be avoided. It's seems you add a tool tip to almost every control element of the dialogs. ...

mesher: what does option "Two-side rendering"

I am currently documenting the mesher settings and have a question.

When you are in the mesh toolbar and open the FC preferences you see in section Display -> Mesh view the option Two-side rendering.
What does the option exactly?

Re: sketcher: wrong redundancy solving with symmetry

These two conditions are essentially two underlying constraints that are applied under the hood to realize the symmetry. Ah, now I get it and understand what the problem is. I thought the symmetry constraint was a constraint of its own and not set in 2 steps but as one step. Maybe this could improv...
