Reference here: #2630 Win installer fixes
Thanks. I see now that the new Windows installer has not yet been backported for FC 0.18. Therefore there is nothing to be backported.

So if you have visual studio installed (1) you can follow pretty much the same instructions as shown for linux in this video [1]. This is:...
Many thanks looo!
I will test this out and create a Wiki page when I succeeded to document it for further usage.

#2630 Win installer fixes

PR 2630 fixes 2 Windows registry issues that occur when installing FreeCAD over an existing FreeCAD installation of the same series, e.g. 0.18.3 over 0.18.x Except of this change: + File /r "${FILES_FREECAD}\resources" It must therefore also be backported to FC 0.18. I don't know the policy how to ...

If we do a v0.18.4, I'd like to include this fix. Should I merge it now?
Yes. There are a few more fixes coming soon.
Except of one 0.19-specific change, the PR 2630 should be backported before a 0.18.4 release because it fixes 2 issues on installing 0.18.4 over 0.18.x.

The creation of two meshes is caused by a regression of the selection mechanism.
I can confirm that git commit bf27b115c0e03b8f86a84e232eb7529fdd0bff78 fixes the issue. Many thanks.

Re: OCC7.4 Released

Please search for conda-build or conda in general in this forum. This topic is about OCCT7.4. I asked you because I could not find a step-by-step instruction (I searched of course already the Forum and the Wiki) and I see that you are familiar with Conda. Thus it would be nice if you could give me ...

edit: no, occt7.4 and occt7.3 are definitely not binary compatible. So in my eyes starting the migration after 0.19 release makes the most sense. There are other more important topics currently.
OK.

What about my question regarding Conda? how can I compile FC on Windows using Conda?

Re: OCC7.4 Released

As there are also other packages depending on occt it makes sense to do this with a "migration". This way a bot will automatically create PR for all occt-depending packages. I guess we should start with this migration after the 0.19 release (if there is one). Why do we need to wait at least half a ...

Re: Addon BoltsFC can no longer be installed/updated

it wasn't meant to be a workbench, but rather a tool that could be used from many workbenches. I agree with vocx. Of course every addon has its history, but since is is now a well-working addon API, why should BoltsFC stay special? If BoltsFC is not meant to be a workbench but a collection macros, ...
