Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

Taken from here. https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=46489&start=10#p402123 At least on that model I get a big performance difference in frame rate between regular and spotlight. Usually the spotlight is 10x faster than regular light. I get around 3 to 10 fps when navigating the 3d vie...

Re: Realthunder's 3d viewport shadow.(And other display goodies)

I went ahead and added a pool to the model. It just seemed empty witought it lol. The first image is with the default light. I tried to leave the shadow settings visible in the screenshot. From my experiencing choosing the correct light color based on the position of the "sun/light" makes a big diff...

Re: shadows in the freecad viewport

The ability to set defaults for the shadowed mode is so handy. Thank you. This is getting better and better. Just out of curiosity. Having a patched coin3d has any disadvantages? That is...if someone what's to compile FC does it have to always patch coin3d and compile that as well?

Re: Realthunder's 3d viewport shadow.

Hi. I tried with the Spot light. But I cannot get a good effect of shadows. You can test lights with some FreeCAD building recreations from here: https://wiki.osarch.org/index.php?title=Architecture_3D_models_created_in_FreeCAD FreeCAD_439gVWX3dI.png Thank you for the links. Bare in mind that I nev...

In my opinion gives beautiful shadows of a better quality than the default light. My screenshots use the spot light. It is just a bit dificult to control the position and orien...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

Hello Zolko. I'm finally getting back to freecad after a long time and I just saw the addition of the animation slider among a ton of other changes. This is such a killer feature. Thank you. I have an issue when editing bodies that are linked within an assembly and I just can't figure out if this i...

Re: New overlay mode (Now ready for testing)

Out of curiosity, I'vd done a litle bit of research and it seems that styling qt text is a real rabbit hole. I just wanted to spare realthunder for an explanation so I'm posting if anyone is interested. His time is already precious. Bare in mind I'm not a coder, I just used google like everybody els...
