Re: Section view causes segfault

You're right, I could not reproduce it with a default config. I missed a crucial step in the OP (edited now). To trigger the segfault you'll have to configure:

Edit → Preferences → TechDraw → HLR → Show Hard Lines (ticked)

[FIXED] Section view causes segfault

Hi, FreeCAD reproducibly crashes when using the TechDraw workbench. Steps to reproduce: - open attached file - select TD workbench - Edit → Preferences → TechDraw → HLR → Show Hard Lines (ticked) - select bottom view - insert section view - click first cut (horizontal) - click on the “down” arrow on...

Re: Engrave sketch

Thanks @chrisb for the suggestion. I can't quite wrap my head around it and also fail to create (TechDraw) drawings from that part depicting the arrow. So I think pocketing an enclosed sketch is easier for me. But maybe it's because I've never used those job and engraver tools. It looks like it's su...

Engrave sketch

Hi, I tried to engrave some text and an arrow in a part. Engraving the text went without issues, but I have no clue how to engrave an arbitrary sketch, in this case an arrow. Any ideas welcome. I've attached a sample drawing. engrave-sketch.png OS: Debian GNU/Linux bullseye/sid (X-Cinnamon/lightdm-x...

Re: System-wide addon install

Thank you for the response. So you should place the new modules in /usr/share/freecad/Mod. This seems not to work. However, if placed in the AppImage /usr/Mod they are being picked up. But I get a warning when FreeCAD is started (regardless of which addon is installed): /tmp/.mount_FreeCAGLzChr/usr/...

Re: Threaded hole reverts to M1.6 thread size

But in freecad 0.18 it used to work. Not so in 0.19.

System-wide addon install

Hi, when using the AppImage the addons installed by the user are stored in $HOME/.FreeCAD/Mod. But how to install addons system-wide? I've tried /usr/local/share/freecad/Mod, but the modules are not recognised when placed there. Is there a way to install addons once so they're available to *all* use...

Threaded hole reverts to M1.6 thread size

Hi, when a sketch is used to create a tapped hole, the default value is M1.6. If this value is changed to e.g. M6 it shows up correctly but when OK is clicked, it reverts back to M1.6, see screencast. The same happens when the hole is edited after it has been created. This looks like a bug to me. Wo...
