Could I have edit permission too please?
I think I could help tidy up some of the text / keep it up to date...
Thanks,
Nick

Re: Idiots guide to compiling from git...?
Wow, thank you all very much. That makes it all much clearer. Hopefully it will make it easier for others too.
Now back to teaching myself some python scripting...
Thanks again,
Nick

Idiots guide to compiling from git...?
Hey, I was wondering if someone could help me out with the new git system. I'm not trying to code (yet) just to do what I used to do with svn. I've read the Compile on Unix page and the Source Code Management page but I'm still a bit lost. 1) If I enter "git clone git://free-cad.git.sourceforge...

Re: Consistent bug
Hey, No idea, what you guys have really done, but it sounds great, and the new build does seem to be letting me get on a bit further. Obviously as I go on I'll encounter more bugs, is it useful to post them here or should I be doing it a different way? I know you guys are working on all sorts of are...

Re: Consistent bug
Okay, I don't know if this will help but I've started the file for about the fifth time and I've started to run into trouble again. Essentially what I'm doing is drawing some lines, wires and circles on the xy plane, then creating a vertical filled wire, selecting it and then setting the working pla...

Re: Consistent bug
I'm not sure I can describe the steps to reproduce it, however I'm attaching a file that has the problem. Opening the file in the latest build, picking the line tool and starting to draw then locks me into drawing more and more points without the opportunity to close the line / escape out of it. The...

Consistent bug
Hi all, I have been trying to use FreeCAD to draw and model a chair for a while now, and I've been building up a list of things that don't seem to work as expected, however the most frequent error that I come across is that after a while tools stops being able to complete their function... E.g. the ...

Re: saved document is empty after opening
Hi I've just had a similar (?) problem. I had drawn several lines - as constructions. Saved the file. Opened it with a newer release but nothing shows up in the main window. The lines are there in the 'tree view' but trying to toggle visibility etc. doesn't do anything. the drawing window is empty. ...

Re: Request - option for tool and object to stay selected
Hi Yorik,
I've tried the new draft tools 'continue' and already I think it is a great improvement. It just feels smoother faster and more natural (for me anyway). Can't wait for it to work on the other tools as well.
Many many thanks, Nick.

Re: Request - option for tool and object to stay selected
Hi Yorik and Juergen, Thanks for your replies. I realise that not everyone would agree with my preferred way of working, so this is to contribute to the discussion... I think that it would be good if the last object created remains selected. Personally I would also prefer that the last tool used rem...
