Re: ASCII art

This was once one of the only ways to draw on a computer back in the 70's and 80's. I remember electronics schematics in plain ASCII along with BBS (Bulletin Board Systems) Banners. It's nice to see people still using this type of drawing, and also the fact its not all monochrome  People used t...

Tutorial Request: Captain America Shield

My son asked me to make this. A Captain America Shield blueprint design by Jai Victoria https://sleepy_mushroom.artstation.com/projects/exRg3 . I put the dimensions in a sketch and the arch of the shield in a separate sketch. I don't know how to go about actually doing this. It seems a bit more adva...

Toy packaging mount

Here is a packaging mount I decided to model because I want to make some holders for some of my sons toys and they already have the holes for these twist locks designed in for packaging. We always throw these out but they can come in handy. This was measured using an actual twist lock from a motoriz...

Re: 4 Jaw Rotary Table T-Slots

For T-slots, model what would go in the slot (a rectangular pad with a cylinder glued on the end and then a smaller copy of these two on top). Subtract that from the solid and then array it. That also makes your model easily reconfigurable, for instance if someone wanted a RT with three slots in it...

4 Jaw Rotary Table T-Slots

I am using FreeCAD to enter in a Rotary Table that is posted online at http://www.deansphotographica.com/machining/projects/mill/rotary/rotary1.html by Dean Williams. I downloaded the PDF from his site and have the Base, Bearing Plate, and Table. This question is regarding the Table part. I figured ...

Here are some Rockwell Space Shuttle documents from the 70's

Over several years I have been searching and finding a plethora of engineering drawings of the Space Shuttle. A majority of the files were downloaded from NTRS.NASA.gov . The problem with the documents is that they are poor quality and broken up into pages haphazardly nothing was aligned. I did my b...

Re: Creating/Adding New Tools

Thanks for the replies. I am encountering a problem when trying to add a new bit. I followed the instructions on the wiki and Sliptonic's recent video. Maybe I missed something. Windows 10 Pro, FreeCAD 0.19.3 current stable. When I add a tool as described in the instruction, I edited the Default.fct...

775 Motor Just For Appearances

Here is my rendition of a 775 Motor. Does not include internal components as seen in " this Screenshot of someone elses excelent work ". Although I would love to have that model. I probably did this the hard way, but I'm fairly new to FreeCAD and I am just a hobbiest. Here is a screenshot ...
