Re: Interesting info re 3D printing, FreeCAD and OpenSCAD
The workflow using both FreeCAD and OpenSCAD seems a bit convoluted. Doesn't Draft Offset/Part Offset or Sketcher Offset offer a solution to the problem?

Re: Optionally make reference lines visible.
Would the ability to define layers in Draft help in such a case?
We do it for laser cutting, where each Draft layer can be processed (or not processed) individually.

Re: Combustion Example
Stuff like that is not possible in FEM workbench. Such simulations require quite advanced CFD. True for the second statement, but for the first one, I would be more cautious in dismissing FEM: Elmer is most likely capable of generating results on combustion if handled correctly. From the FEM workbe...

Re: How to set new origin of part?
Hi, I am sure I am reviving an old post that had been discussed one way or the other a thousand times, but I cannot exactly pin-point an answer in my searching of the forum. What about a .step file imported externally? quite often I get .step files that have the strangest origin, sometimes it is a p...

Re: Using FreeCAD + PathWB for Laser cutting workflows
It very much looks like you should be talking to Russ. He works on 4th axis indexing at the moment, I'm sure there are synergies with your pipe simulator.

Re: Can Freecad to architecture airflow analysis?
Windspeed 100 km/h = 28 m/s Below roof 160 km/h = 44 m/s In words: during storm, dont go under the roof, it is the most dangerous place... Lets try heating... roof.JPG Amazing! Which workbench did you use? cfd, CfdOF or FEM? As for the simulation itself, given the wind direction, I am quite...

Re: Can Freecad to architecture airflow analysis?
That is true, fluid analysis is better performed through OpenFOAM in FreeCAD these days, at least for high-reynolds fluids, which includes turbulences. For this, the CfdOF workbench should be added, it takes care of all major dependencies and is supported by clear documentation and tutorials. I do b...

You may want to talk to user HakanSeven12 who made the Modern GUI. He played extensively with grouping functions.
