Re: Importing DXF in millimetres

I recently found out that there is a System Variable in DWG/DXF which is called $MEASUREMENT and defines the units. If this is set to 0, it's Imperial, if 1 it's metric. You can edit the DXF file in a text editor. Look for the $MEASUREMENT entry. After it there are 2 lines. "70", which specifies tha...

Errors relate to something separate.

[Solved]Dialog box only partially showing.

I've followed this tutorial to make up a quick and dirty cylinder creation tool.

I've designed a Dialog using QtDesigner.

However, the dialog box is only partially displayed.

What am I doing wrong?

How do I correctly define the height of the dialog?

Re: Corrupted output of TechDraw Workbench DXF exporter

By the way, I think we've established that the DXF exporter is not corrupted.

Re: Corrupted output of TechDraw Workbench DXF exporter

I notice that there is a setting in the TechDraw settings panel which gives the option to render hidden lines as dashes. If this produced dashed lines (as opposed to multiple lines segmented), then I would be able to use that in my workflow to separate out the hidden lines on a separate layer or wit...

Re: Corrupted output of TechDraw Workbench DXF exporter

When I was looking for a small example to post here, I found that some of the DXF files were in fact readable, so not all produce corrupted content.

The file I posted here produces corrupted content. At least it does with my CAD program. (ProgeCAD, which is an IntelliCAD derivative)

Re: Corrupted output of TechDraw Workbench DXF exporter

Sure. The dxf output can be read with Qcad but unfortunately essential information is not written to the DXF elements. So I can resolve the problem of being able to read the DXF file by using a script to open and then save the file. However, I need to be able to differentiate between outlines and hi...

Corrupted output of TechDraw Workbench DXF exporter

I have long had an issue with using the dxf exporter in the TechDraw Workbench which produces corrupted content unreadable for my CAD software. I've got around the problem by exporting in SVG and using a script found here , which has generally produced accurate and reliable conversions. (online conv...
