Similar on MacOS. I had some sudden system dropouts due to power failure, and everything was lost.

Besides, considering your name: funny typo in the topic title.
:lol:

Probably habit taking over in my typing.

Temp directory for recovery files.

On Linux, the recovery files appear to be saved to the /tmp directory.

Is there a way to save it elsewhere? Say, to /opt/tmp or to a user's home directory /home/dave/.Freecad/tmp?

The problem is that the /tmp directory is wiped on reboot and the recovery files are lost.

Re: Importing DXF in millimetres

Ok, thanks.

Yes, it would appear that the ODA converter is doing something strange to the file. The regular DXF imports fine.

I really should have checked that.

Importing DXF in millimetres

I have a DWG file that I'm trying to import, but the imported lines are scaled down to inches. For example, if a line is 152mm, when I import it into FreeCAD, it is 6 units long. Under the DXF Import Preferences It says "Scale factor to apply to imported files 1", so it should be importing to the co...

Oh, right! :lol:

I thought the Assets list was specific to Linux. Now I see it has OSX and W10 packages as well.

Thanks for that!

Freecad 0.19 pre windows executable - where is it?

I've borrowed a Windows machine to help process my model and I need to install FreeCAD 0.19 pre on it. According to this , there should be a compiled executable. Windows Binary developer builds ( no compiling necessary ) are available. Download the highest revision of the .7z The builds are portable...

Re: Geom_BSplineCurve::Segment error

Yes, I had been using git to draw down and compile the latest 0.18 commits periodically. I will mark this thread as solved, as the Appimage seems to have done the trick. It takes ages for the recomputes though. Version 0.16 had Lattice2 which locked recomputes until changes to the view were finished...

Re: Geom_BSplineCurve::Segment error

Thanks guys. @Joel_graph: I've used the technique of dividing the structure up and rebuilding the compound, but the error is inconsistent and I think I've built a compound which eliminates it and then it appears again when I compound two ostensibly error free compounds. It's quite a complex model, s...

Just to add that I've just seen these errors in the CLI: Exception (Mon Sep 23 09:28:21 2019): GeomAPI_ProjectPointOnCurve::LowerDistanceParameter In bool Part::GeomCurve::closestParameter(const Vector3d&, double&) const in src/Mod/Part/App/Geometry.cpp:548 Exception (Mon Sep 23 09:28:21 2019): Geom...
