Correction: it's release date 0.17 12852 (Git) 2017/12/20 21:01:24 masterbranch 64-bit it says now in the about box.

I see. How do i check validity afterwards? Part->CheckObject. If errors are shown you can select one of the lines and the position of the error is marked with a white dash-lined cube. I am busy booting the external network right now where that box is with the temporarily windows7 pro install, it has the TitanZ card i bought to crunch and toy in CUDA with (under debian). Will try it all then!

The problem is probably the join of torus + cylinder + cube. You can try to join only halves, but I would recommend rather a cube + two fillet operations. I will make a proposal a bit later. I see. Tried all the above versions at Vista. FreeCAD 0.17 does start there, yet when i go to part then click 'box' it complains about user32.dll I know from previous post that indicates it only works at new windows version. So i can choose from buying new windows or TurboCAD or invest a lot of my time and...

Won't work under release debian. For some weird reason FreeCAD wants latest beta version of debian. Not sure how i go install that without internet connection. To me it is always a mystery how software manages to not work for stable linux/stable windows computers from just a handful of years ago. Ye...
