Sounds like some good things mixed with some bad things.
For example why do I get the feeling that Canonical is trying to build a fence around open software and call it an 'ecosystem'. Why is this not an open standard instead of something that only Canonical owns and controls?

Re: 0.19 Snap Preview needs "testers"
Sorry a total noob here but I didn't catch the answer to the initial question:
What is snap and why do we need it?

Re: Modernizing the Bird Mark 7 ventilator (MARK-19)
Here is also the list of components created with the Reporting WB (https://github.com/furti/FreeCAD-Reporting) with the statement: Frankly I'm not sure what else we should do. We can generate a 2D drawing of each component maybe? But for this we need to know if a part is imperial or metric, its mat...

Re: Modernizing the Bird Mark 7 ventilator (MARK-19)
It's not clear to me whereof you need GCode paths. Can anyone get these things sorted, e.g. by coloring different materials or by processing need or whatever. I think we need to separate this into several groups * Off the shelf parts - Things like screws, washers, o-rings, pieces of hose etc. * Pla...

I can only see it as one single part. We need to chop this up into separate parts.

Hi Cpl_Detritus and welcome! Would you post a link or let me know where to where you got that book or the images? Looks like a nice model you've created and it seems you're off to a great start! Here is the original forum I found these on. https://www.model-engineer.co.uk/forums/postings.asp?th=125...

Re: Steam Engine and Pump - Noob's first project (Work In Progress)
I don't think this is a minor quirk, It is a major bug. What is worse is that it is a highly visible bug that causes many experienced users to stay away from the program. Believe me you want these people onboard. These are people who could potentially contribute code to this project. These are peopl...

Re: Steam Engine and Pump - Noob's first project (Work In Progress)
I think it is a bug, especially if you are modeling surfaces. For example in the sweep below you would expect the program to produce four surfaces all equal. Instead it produces five surfaces. This is guaranteed to cause many problems in subsequent modeling. This is only a very basic example and the...
