Re: Ubuntu PPA Maintenance Coordination

You mean you downloaded and installed my package from Dropbox, or do you have the existing package from the Daily Builds PPA? That package (named freecad) has not been updated since early April. sorry, the Daily Builds PPA package named freecad. btw, thanks for all your work towards this! The whole...

Re: Ubuntu PPA Maintenance Coordination

Would assuming people already installed freecad_0.16.6703 from the Stable PPA before installing freecad-daily be reasonable? Currently, I only have freecad-daily installed, so that might not be a good assumption. But if it was documented on the downloads wiki page as a requirement, that would seem ...

I'm in the US. Which might explain my lack of regional awareness ;-)

Re: ZX plane in PartDesign Next (instead of XZ)

For what it's worth, catia names it "ZX plane" instead of "XZ plane". I'm biased since I'm a catia user, but I find ZX easier to work with since you only need to look at the first letter to find which one you're looking for: XY plane YZ plane ZX plane vs XY plane XZ plane YZ plane But that seems tri...

Re: 0.16 Features We'd Like To See

Again, how do other cad applications solve this? In Catia, you can right click an element and select "Parents/Children" which opens a window like this: http://catiadoc.free.fr/online/dysug_C2/images/dbuseedgeNLS.gif If you double click on a child, it expands to show the children of that child. Or i...

Re: How to use FreeCAD's bult-in icons?

import PartGui did the trick! Thanks for your explanations! Now for my followup question... can I use QT Designer to add these icons to buttons in a .ui file? In the icon area in QT Designer, it pulls up a "select resource" dialog box and it gives the option to open a resource file, but I'm not sure...

Re: How to use FreeCAD's bult-in icons?

I tried with a single colon, but I am still getting the same error. I took a look at Tools > Customize > Macros and I DO see a number of icons there, but the Part_Point_Parametric icon is missing. It will show up in the list though after I start the Part workbench... With some experimenting, the ico...

Re: How to use FreeCAD's bult-in icons?

When I try that, I get this error when I load the workbench in FreeCAD:

Code: Select all

Cannot find icon: ::/icons/Part_Point_Parametric.svg
I'm not sure if it makes a difference, but I have my workbench in ~/.FreeCAD/Mod instead of /usr/lib/freecad/Mod

How to use FreeCAD's bult-in icons?

There's a great selection of icons here ! I'm sure there's a simple way to use these for custom workbench tools, but I can't seem to find a good example... For instance, say I want to use http://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/images/e/e4/Part_Point_Parametric.svg as a placeholder icon for a revolutionary p...
