Re: Object transforms challenges and suggestions
I would like to reiterate the importance of the first four bullet points below in an the effort to make Freecad more user-friendly and faster. Moving, rotating, and duplicating objects is a core essential part of the architectural workflow. I am quite a proficient blender, rhino, and revit user, and...

Create the documentation:
- Create a Draft_Clone from the shape.
- Change the Y scale of the clone so that its faces when rotated 90 degrees do not overlap.
- Run the Python code....

Re: Object transforms challenges and suggestions
User experience improvements are of course welcome, but I think the visual of this tool is ok. As an architect and designer that deals with making spaces beautiful and functional, I like to have the tools I spend my days on looking as aesthetically pleasing as well, and this gizmo looks hideous. Ye...

Re: Object transforms challenges and suggestions
I've noticed that after a transform command, the object being snapped on gets selected. I don't understand this. You cannot use snaps with Std_TransformManip . If you use Esc to cancel the transform operation the object stays selected. I was referring to draft_move, bim_copy, and draft_rotate. When...

Re: Object transforms challenges and suggestions
in my opinion, the functions in freecad are better than in other systems, because accidental movement with the mouse is impossible. it is therefore even possible to work without assembly workbenches As, whether something is better than something else, that's quite subjective. The point is, how the ...

Re: Layers/sublayers/groups and draftview questions/suggestions
Check @yorik latest blog, he strongly suggest to do a Draft Shape2DView, then put the shape result to TechDraw (seems to be by DraftView? I do not remember), in lieu of ArchView. Thanks for the tips about furniture. I mostly worked on Arch only instead of BIM WB :) Yes, I read that blog post, but i...

Re: Slatted ceiling documentation and fabrication?
Can you post the object to show the workflow for developer to think how this can be achieved. Here is a onerive link to the model: https://1drv.ms/u/s!AjOyIlYnTjWAopFoCtgcI-CT-nh4pw?e=5arZcA To clarify, the intent is to both make the geometry and to output it for CNC. Yes, sheets actually wouldn't ...

Object transforms challenges and suggestions
Moving, rotating, and duplicating objects is a core essential part of the architectural workflow. I am quite a proficient blender, rhino, and revit user, and I find that in the other programs, adjusting objects is significantly quicker than in Freecad. The current experience in Freecad can be improv...
