Re: Problems with IFC

Ah, that's the reason. I was wondering how that could happen, because in IFC properties manager, you can not enter values of the wrong type, the UI restricts value entries to the right type. I was just about to search for IFC property sets with IfcIntegers (there are not that many) and test with the...

Re: Problems with IFC

From a quick look this may be a property value with a wrong type, e.g. you entered a String or Real for a property of type Integer. Can you try to export without property sets to confirm?

Re: [ Error ] PlacesObject does not exist in IfcAxis2Placement3D in BimServer

Now that IFCOpenShell 0.6.0 made it into 0.19 builds, we have the whole schema available at runtime: https://github.com/IfcOpenShell/IfcOpenShell/issues/718. I would suggest to implement optional schema validation either on instantiation or on final saving the IFC. This option could be switched on f...

Re: BIM logical dependencies between model elements, parameterized modeling, georeferencing

Walls don't know anything about each other. So if I build a room from 4 walls and I move one wall , there's no way the other walls will automatically adjust, right? Did you try to create the floorplan as a sketch and deduce the walls from the sketch elements? I assume this could potentially cover p...

Re: [ Error ] PlacesObject does not exist in IfcAxis2Placement3D in BimServer

Ok, here is the PR: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/2714. However, I think a more general approach to avoid or at least detect generation of invalid IFC would be necessary. The issue we see here is not about modelling something in different ways according to the schema and then applications ...

Re: IFC import fails in v0.19

Can you verify that this version of IFCOpenShell can actually handle IFC4? Earlier versions needed to be compiled for a specific IFC schema version, either IFC2x3 or IFC4. I believe the version included in releases is the one compiled for IFC2x3 so far. Try this to check: >>> import ifcopenshell >>>...

Re: [ Error ] PlacesObject does not exist in IfcAxis2Placement3D in BimServer

Oh, I did not realize that this was created with FreeCAD / IFCOpenShell. I just had a look at the IFCOpenShell sources and it seems as if the Python wrapper only supports late binding, that is no IFC type checking during creation of the IFC. This makes it very likely for this kind of errors to appea...

Re: [ Error ] PlacesObject does not exist in IfcAxis2Placement3D in BimServer

The IFC file is invalid. The same error popped up as BIMserver issue recently: https://github.com/opensourceBIM/BIMserver/issues/1032#issuecomment-525906646 . The issue reduces to these lines: #9=IFCAXIS2PLACEMENT3D(#8,#7,#6); #152=IFCANNOTATION('3yOaSecJ57P9QBcy4qsBvP',#5,'DrOpening__Sk_Dr_950x2200...

Re: Getting started with Webtools and OpenBIM

PR is here: https://github.com/yorikvanhavre/WebTools/pull/6 I have encountered the following issues and possible improvements: 1. Currently, there seems to be no way to reload project and revision lists without reconnecting. A reload button for the project list and reload of revisions upon change o...

Re: Getting started with Webtools and OpenBIM

I have tested BIMserver connection yesterday and noticed a couple of issues which I have fixed (will submit a PR once finished). Among others, the BIMserver API for downloads has changed a while ago: All the download* methods have been removed and replaced by one method called "download". (Source: B...
