I checked the AUR repos for freecad and apparently there's a binary image available for 0.19 with spacenavd support.
This is a relatively new development as the 3d-mouse support was missing in years past.
This frees me from compiling my own.
Sorry for the false alarm gentlemen!

unable to start freecad (compiled from git) / python error? [resolved]
Hi guys, I moved to a new computer and attempted a compile from git with qt4. Compile goes smoothly, but freecad does not start. It fails with the following error: Am I missing some python module? Re: path workbench libgfortran.so.4 not found
Thanks for the detailed explanation on the dependency. Just for fun I tried symlinking libgfortran.so.4 -> libgfortran.so.5, that yielded another error about gfortran_7 not found (required by /usr/lib/libmed.so.1). Was worth a shot :D I checked to see where libgfortran was originating, and my packag...

Re: path workbench libgfortran.so.4 not found
Unfortunately not very far: I click on Path WB and it pops up that error.
The tool bar buttons do not switch to path (I had it on Part, and they remained).

path workbench libgfortran.so.4 not found
Hi guys, I'm trying out the path workbench for the first time and hitting a run time error finding libgfortran.so.4 https://i.imgur.com/yv8Fi54.png I tried to bring up cmake-gui and change the pointer, but its not visible in the advanced settings. I did find this on my system: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root...

Re: xcb problem when starting new build of freecad
While I'm not sure how much of a performance hit I'd take from disabling DRI3, I tried backstepping mesa from 18.0.0 to 17.3.7 and that resolved my issue without resorting to DRI disables.
Thanks for the pointer to the SUSE thread.

xcb problem when starting new build of freecad
Hi guys, I did a pull and managed to break my freecad with the following error: FreeCAD 0.18, Libs: 0.18R13522 (Git) © Juergen Riegel, Werner Mayer, Yorik van Havre 2001-2018 ##### #### ### #### # # # # # # # ## #### #### # # # # # #### # # # # # # # ##### # # # # #### #### # # # # # # # # # # # # #...
