bonding/gluing multiple bodies in FEM

One of the very import feature for a FEM package to be used for real world industrial mode, is the ability to bond/glue/connect the meshes from different components (with mathematical constraint) . We have tried to use partition or compound solid in FreeCAD for multiple material FEA, but it is quite...

Re: Rebuild the FEM model

Accessing the object by label works well. Thanks ! But If I am going to do all this in batch model, without viewing the label and attribute window, how do I get the label of the currently active FEM model/object ? And How do I get the label of the CAD/object I just imported on top of the original on...

Re: Rebuild the FEM model

Actually I just figure out there are two names (label) to be used, so I am talking about both. How do I get both name and label through script ? And I gave it a try on my own model. I imported a STEP file examp104_01, and setup the FEM and run. And then I imported a STEP file examp104_02 again, as s...

Re: Rebuild the FEM model

Script should work perfectly for me at this point. Thank you. I did give it a try. And I am wondering how does FreeCAD decide the name of the newly imported "geometrical document object" ? Is there a way to obtain this name (through script), assuming that we need to know it in batch mode execution ?...

Re: Rebuild the FEM model

- open document, run analysis, show results - run Python code App.ActiveDocument.FEMGeom.Shape = App.ActiveDocument.getObjectsByLabel("examp112")[0].Shape - recompute document - remesh (if netgen mesh is used, the mesh will be chaned on document recompute) - run analysis, show results change_geomet...

Re: Rebuild the FEM model

If I have a FreeCAD FEM model, which contains the following actions 1. Import the STEP file. 2. Apply materials, BC and Loading 3. Meshing 4. solve and post-processing If I change the geometry in the STEP file of STEP 1 with an external CAD, is there any way I can rebuild the whole model and solve ...

Re: strange result from the constraint transformation

Here it is. Try to scale up the deformation, you will see the holes are enlarged. >>>>>> Version info OS: Windows 10 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-bit Version: 0.18.16131 (Git) Build type: Release Branch: releases/FreeCAD-0-18 Hash: 3129ae4296e40ed20e7b3d460b86e6969acbe1c3 Python ...
