Well, I get the transform tool, but all it rotates is the transform axes, not the body. Same if I drag on the x or y axis, it just moves the transform handles, never the object/body. I can transform the original part1 body with no problem.

Ed, did you just position by trial and error, or is there a magic way to attach to the plane? The icon I normally use in part design did not work for me when I selected the plane, clicked the icon and selected sketch001.
