Re: [BIM] Problem with floors
... Am I using floors incorrectly? How are they supposed to work? I thought I'd just put objects into the floor, and they would automatically calculate their z-axis relative to that floor's z-axis height? The documentation for Arch BuildingPart surely could be better. The Level Offset property is a...

Re: Arch: window/door in a Cut does not make a hole
It's not a sweeping statement, it's a general recommendation for new users. It's like those users that start mixing Part Workbench operations with PartDesign operations. It may work some times, but other times it creates chaos. If you are an experienced user, then you already know the pitfalls, and...

Feature: Automatically select created object
Hello ;) Is there a way to automatically select an object after creating it? Right now if I create a rectangle, I have to then select it, then hit Wall (in Arch), then select that wall, then resize it. It would be nice if creation operations would automatically select the object they created, wouldn...

Re: Arch: window/door in a Cut does not make a hole
You should use Arch Workbench tools when working with architectural components; in this case Arch Add and Arch Remove . Mixing in Part Workbench operations is going to mess your design. Of course, internally Arch Add and Remove do use Part Fusion and Cut and so on, but they have further logic to wo...

Please edit your first post and enclose the output with code tags </>. Preserves indentation and makes the 100+ lines easier to read. done, thanks for the reminder! I also tried on another machine (same version of FreeCAD), same problem. OS: Arch Linux Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: ...

Re: Arch: Crash when adding a material
Additional info: This seems to only happen if you do *not* change the default colour.
EDIT: or maybe not... it worked once, now it is not working again, even if I fill out all the fields...

Arch: Crash when adding a material
When I try to add a new material, FreeCAD 0.18 16131 crashes: I've tried with an empty file, a file with only a wall, and one of the example files, same problem every time. To reproduce: click on Create material, click OK -> crash Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/lib/freecad/Mod/Ar...

Re: Arch: window/door in a Cut does not make a hole
I've tried that, that does not work. What *does* work is not using Cut but only Arch Remove (not down arrow but minus).

Arch: window/door in a Cut does not make a hole
Hello ;) I've been playing around with the Arch and BIM workbenches. I've tried to add a window to a complex wall, created with multiple Cuts, but that window does not make a hole. I've reproduced it with a simple test case (attached). Do windows just not work with cuts? Or am I doing something inco...
