Re: FreeCAD 0.18.3 - Intersection snap does not work consistently in Draft Workbench
Ok, I think this is a precision problem. I moved all the elements to the YZ working plane with zero offset and set the working plane accordingly, and now the intersection snap works. Still, I would expect it not to matter if all the elements and the working plane use the same offset. Is there an eas...

FreeCAD 0.18.3 - Intersection snap does not work consistently in Draft Workbench
I am trying to trace some construction lines in Draft Workbench. The Intersection snap is not working consistently. I've checked that all the lines are coplanar and that they are all in the working plane. I did a screencast of three examples. Only one of them seems to be working: https://youtu.be/JR...

Re: FreeCAD 0.18.3 - Strange constraint mismatch in A2plus Workbench
I noticed that I can't use normal Draft Snap functions like Endpoint with the stair model, so I cannot add properly working dimensions. It seems the Arch Stairs object is not playing nice with the other parts in the assembly. I had added constraints for the stairs (to make them mate with the structu...

FreeCAD 0.18.3 - Strange constraint mismatch in A2plus Workbench
I'm using A2plus Workbench to assemble a piece of furniture. (I cannot see any other way of doing this if I want discretely designed parts and to create a parts list. I asked about alternatives in this forum post. ) I have just designed a new part, a board that I want to use for a floor. I import th...

Draft Snap Ortho works only on the working plane
The instructions for Ortho Draft Snap https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/Draft_Ortho don't mention that this only works on the working plane. The instructions read: Make sure Draft ToggleSnap and Snap Ortho are turned on. Choose a Draft tool to draw a shape. Move the cursor approximately in the directi...

Re: How do I best assemble and place furniture in an architectural space?
I'm not saying it's wrong, but using A2plus or other assembly workbench to model a building is unusual. These workbenches are mostly intended to design machinery, because machines contain many small parts that need to be placed in specific locations with the help of constraints. Designing a buildin...

How do I best assemble and place furniture in an architectural space?
Hi there! :) I am designing an elevated floor (as furniture) to create some storage space. I want to know if I am using FreeCAD correctly and whether there might be a better way to achieve what I want. Here's what I have done so far: Walls: - In Draft, I've created construction lines and then used D...

Re: Draft Workbench - how do I set camera position?
... You can see that the face which becomes visible is at z = 2.6 m. (The other face that is always visible is at z = 2.3 m, so I'm guessing that the camera plane is at z = 2.5 m.)... The camera is not at 2.5 m. Simply put, this is a rendering issue with the 3D view (or Qt or Coin3D or OpenGL or yo...

Draft Workbench - how do I set camera position?
I'm building a floor plan in Draft Workbench. I intend to pad the walls in 3D. I have some faces which will be lintels for doors. The faces are at different heights. When I set the working plane to XY, only some of the faces are visible. I'm assuming this is because the camera is at a certain height...

Re: Draft Workbench - why is my pattern so faint?
I made a screencast of the Arc line style behaviour on my system: https://youtu.be/ZtZgC4sMEpI On one occasion, a thick dashed line appeared, but I don't know why and I haven't been able to reproduce it since. All in all, very inconsistent behaviour, at least to me; there is almost certainly some so...
