Re: Cleanly Converting a Mesh Object (to Use in Assembly Designs)

Thanks everyone for your input. Thanks TheMarkster for taking the time to finish the part, & for sharing it. I found that the quickest way to recreate the part for me--personally--was to sketch the shape from the top & then pad it at 1". Then I added the holes to the sides by using the mesh as a ref...

Cleanly Converting a Mesh Object (to Use in Assembly Designs)

Hello, I'm attempting to use a furniture joint designed by spacejunkie9 on Thingiverse ( which can be found here ) in a dresser design. I want to use the joints in an A2+ assembly before I make any cuts into my stock. I have converted the STL mesh to a part, but the part has so many lines on the fac...

Re: Adjustable Storage Projects

Thank you for the recommendations catman. I will look further into those workbenches (for those watching, none of the aforementioned are default except for the Path WB--you will need to download them via Macro -> Macros ... -> Addons...). As far as stetting up Path GCode, I think I will leave that f...

Adjustable Storage Projects

Hello, I have a couple of projects I've created to help manage my clutter & failing furniture. The plan is to use these designs to cut storage solutions out of plywood with a CNC router. I'll attach the repos below. Adjustable Storage Dresser Stackable Flat Box My aim with both of these projects is ...

Re: Sketch Loses Shape After Spreadsheet Dim Change

Hi chrisb, Yes, the 90° constraints were used to keep the shape when dimensions were changed. I will take another look at changing them over & see how the sketch fares when changing sizes. Constraint73 was set with the Length constraint because it's meant to change both horizontal & vertical lines (...

Re: Sketch Loses Shape After Spreadsheet Dim Change

Hello, The back sketch is complete. I'll post all 3 after I run some tests & have a final result. Right now I'm having an issue with the design for the side. It's difficult because I want the center slots to be independently adjusted, so I don't think I can mirror it. Right now there seems to be con...

Re: Sketch Loses Shape After Spreadsheet Dim Change

Hello, Thanks for dropping that link, Mario. That's an interesting solution, but I don't think it quite fits my specific application at this time. I appreciate you sharing it, though! I've incorporated both chrisb's & Willem's suggestions into the new sketch. It seems to be working the way I expect ...

Sketch Loses Shape After Spreadsheet Dim Change

Hello, Currently I'm working on rebuilding this design in FreeCAD. I've attached the file below. My issue is that when I change dimensions in the spreadsheet, the tabs seemingly randomly become inverted. I've tried different constraints in those locations, but nothing seems to work completely consis...

Re: Building a Stackable 5-Sided Plywood Box - Help w/ Sketcher

Thanks for your input so far, it's very appreciated. I'm changing my approach to constructing this & building it from scratch. Currently I'm in the middle of a simpler object trying to get a better grasp of what I need to be doing. I'll keep this updated as I find time to work on it.
