Re: Section Face Format
1. I wouldn't have expected to see the front face (cutout & holes) on the section. I think there is no reason for this. 2. I would have expeced to have a line surrounding the holes and the dowels to better differentiate between them or (even better) to be able to manually add different hatches ...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
I think I would clone the original part (or the Body inside it) and put this clone in its own part. I'm not sure that I understand you correctly. Here are my files. Can you please show me what you mean in those files. Thanks in advance. Attached you find what I meant. But I quickly realised that th...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
What about cloning your original Part and then resizing the clones? And about the hidden Parts: that problem was described just two posts earlier. Do you mean to link my part within Assembly4 and then to clone it? I think I would clone the original part (or the Body inside it) and put this clone in...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
But my STEP import is a Part container which contains other Part Containers. you re-import the FreeCAD STEP export into FreeCAD again ? I thought you'd import the exported STEP into your ray-tracing software (like Blender) and would continue from there (to apply textures for example). But as I said...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
export of Assembly4 assemblies seems to work. But if you had an assembly made of e.g. 30 or more parts and you wanted / needed to use the Raytracing or Render Workbench, it might be easier and faster to just select all parts and convert them to solids than to expand ALL the parts and select ALL the...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
Solids can not be made out of externally linked parts. ... export a STEP file ... if you want to use Blender, you can just export the reimported STEP export without creating solids first I'm no specialist of raytracing, but it seems to me that the easiest option currently is to go through a STEP ex...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
But then I simply selected all the parts and converted them to solids. Works! great news. Could you describe a little more in detail what you have done so we can include it in the instructions ? As of now, adding Parts or external Links to views in the Raytracing or Render Workbenches is not possib...

Re: Section Face Format
Please, you should include in the post your FreeCAD installation details. Also, it would be useful to share the file. This way @wandererfan can understand what is the problem. yes, of course, sorry! attached is a file. my Version is: OS: macOS 10.15 Word size of OS: 64-bit Word size of FreeCAD: 64-...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench
great suggestion! But it did not work. The imported step model also consists of parts, therefore the solids in it aren't positionted. But then I simply selected all the parts and converted them to solids. Works! (this also works with the original assembly links. So at this moment you need to convert...
