FEM displacement amplification
Hello, beginner in the FEM simulation, I tried to simulate a 1um displacement in a metalic part and to see material properties effects at the other side, considering resonant frequency. 1) Running a frequency analysis, I'm able to collect the eigen values: is there a way to display a graph / bar cha...

Re: Using FreeCAD + PathWB for Laser cutting workflows
I started to try the litophane workbench to convert the image to a 3D mesh, it works pretty good.
I still need to deeply check the meshing granularity, as the generated file is huge for now, and a bit useless

Re: Using FreeCAD + PathWB for Laser cutting workflows
Hi all, else if I'm not as advanced as some others, I'm also trying to create path for laser cutting & engraving, I would like to provide some inputs / questions. I started from a basic (half) box example (created with laser cut interlocking workbench), with a logo on it: Box.png It can be then ...

Profile compensation issue
Hi, I don't if this is how it should work, but I found that when trying to profile a contour using compensation, there's a bug in the GCode generation. I created a piece 150mm*150m0*1mm that I planned to profile with a 2mm tool diameter. I have the following settings: 2021-09-27 09_16_06-Window.png ...

I setup again my profiling operation with dressup, and it is ok now.
Still thanks for your help, the link you provided is also interesting: I was not aware of G-Code Ripper

Re: setting up post processor arc settings for G2 commands
I guess that you are speaking about his topic: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=42579 Which appears to be similar to my dressup issue. The conclusion is less fair: I found something: the height of the tags has an influence on the problem. I changed my height of tags and could ei...

Re: setting up post processor arc settings for G2 commands
Hi Chris, I didn't try to try to mill the tombstone, but it seems to be good basics for setting up a specific postprocessor. I'm using the default grbl postprocessor with G54 enabled as work coordinate systems. Setting up 4 digits within Preferences->General->Units does not seems to be enough for th...

Re: setting up post processor arc settings for G2 commands
Hi Gene,
I probably wrote a confusing sentence : when I wrote that I generated a dressup, it was using freecad
The $12 setting of the machine is the Arc Tolerance (mm) which is usually set to 0.002 mm.
Your alternative sounds good, but where can I set up the 4 digits precision for arcs ?
