Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

The preview is fine like this if it works for you. Using Coin is just for convenience because Coin doesn't create more "objects" inside the document; it is just manipulation of the 3D view itself, which is supposed to be faster. My implementation was the easiest for me since I never did anything di...

Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

Basically, what you would have to do is prepare a tracker for the array, that is, create the array using the Coin library, and once the inputs are correct in your task panel, remove the tracker, and produce the real geometry (the Array object with the delayed execution of the makeArray function). T...

How to view an object on top of others?

Hello, I have seen that FreeCAD has the functionality to render selected and pre-selected objects on top of other objects. So my question is how can I do that using python without selecting the objects I want to display on top of others?

I added an image of a an object being shown on top of others.

Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

As I said, I'm not familiar with the way this works. Off the top of my head, there is not a single Observer in Draft's code, which is why I haven't seen this functionality. What is used is the simple selection, that is, FreeCADGui.Selection.getSelection. This is used in my code as well. I presume t...

Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

- I guess it's not possible for a macro to run on double click on an array. I am not sure what you mean by that. Do you mean to double click on an object to choose it as a base? I meant indeed double clicking on an array. I mean editing an existing array with your macro, similar to a double click o...

Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

It's good. I have the same idea. I already created a few branches to launch the CircularArray and the PolarArray tools, but I haven't submitted a pull request. I haven't submitted my code for the simple reason that before submitting it I wanted to structure more the code so that it is not messy. Th...

Re: Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

Thanks for sharing. Thanks for giving feedback. I made a couple of changes that hopefully solve these issues. - If an object is selected before calling the macro it should be entered as base of the array Now, if an object is selected before calling the macro, then it will be used as a base for the ...

Adjunto fichero con dos cubos fusionados, el Cub001 tiene definida altura 20mm, no se visualiza.
Has intentado dando click al F5? Recalculé el documento y el cambio a Cub001 fue visualizado.

Making the creation of arrays more user friendly

Hello, I have been working on a way to make the creation of arrays more user friendly. I used the task panel where the information of the array can be put. I made all the code inside a macro as a proof of concept since I am not sure if others would like to integrate this functionality into the Draft...

Re: freecadweb.org

I also have problems with loading CSS in the forum and getting 404 errors in the wiki. And when I try to go to www.freecadweb.org I only get a blank page. I have tried with both desktop and mobile.
