Re: Assembly 4 workbench

2) No, it has to be inside the body to be able to use it you're right. I don't use datum points like that, that's why I didn't see it before. So you have 2 solutions: 1) don't use PartDesign (at all) 2) draw your sketches in the Part container, and do the extrusions (or whatever) in the Body. It wi...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

When i import the datum point, it's part of my App:Part, which is useless for the bodies i'm working on, it needs to be inside of the body 1) Yes (it's in the Part) 2) Why ? (can't you use it inside the Body) 2) No, it has to be inside the body to be able to use it? (at least, i think so. If i clic...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

Is there some other create datum point button somewhere so i can make it directly in the assembly part? yes, in the Assembly4 workbench directly: either from the menu, the toolbar or from the contextual menu when an App::Part is selected. And it creates the datum objects directly where you need it....

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

Made a body there, made sure that body is the active body, selected the datum point, and pressed the import datum object button that i put a red square around in the image. If i understand your explanation correctly, this is what i'm supposed to be doing? Ah OK, I understand. No, only datum objects...

So now i selected one of these datum points from the master sketch i linked, clicked the import but...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

I haven't got the slightest clue what i can do with them. and we haven't got the slightest clue of what you actually want to do. In the sketcher there is no way to use them. you can import datum points into a sketch (provided that they both are in the same App::Part container) with the button " Cre...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

Hi guys, sorry to interrupt the party, I just have a pertinent question. It is possible to merge all the Assemblies Workbenches into just one Assembly Workbench? Because otherwise the things are getting very confusing here! I'm not one of the developers, but i'll try to already answer your question...

Re: Assembly 4 workbench

I've got a nice sketch with LCS's at every point where i'll need to make holes for the bearings. Where do i go from here? I'm not sure to understand, but what you could try is to place datum Points at every point where you want something to happen (not LCS, useless here), then – assuming you have i...
