Re: Unable to add dimension to new lines in Part Design

@chrisb I agree on auto remove.

but since I couldn't test it, I was thinking the horizontal and symmetry in the first line was probably causing an issue.

Re: Unable to add dimension to new lines in Part Design

I'm not at a computer at the moment so can't test anything.

do you have auto remove redundant on? if not, you should.

if you have auto constraints turned on, turn it off.

Re: Absolute Beginner- Simple Task Eludes Me

Hi, and welcome. It sounds like you have a Part workbench object and have attempted to fillet it with tools from Part Design workbench. If you attach your FreeCAD file we could have a better way to see where you are and what needs to be done to help. The big pink bar above tells how to get the syste...

Re: Having more than one pad in PartDesign makes preview extremely slow, introduces visual bugs, changes settings and cr

Aren't pads different from solids? Here is a way to think of pads. In Part workbench you can create a line. You can extrude that line. You get an infinitely thin face. Re: Bug affecting thumbnail creation ?

After some research, there seems to be some magic one needs to apply to the file manager (in my case XFCE and Thunar) to see thumbnails. (Note, not n FreeCAD, but in the file browser...) Not sure it would work for a FreeCAD file, since the FC file is a zip file and the thumbnail is in a folder in th...

Re: Bug affecting thumbnail creation ?

Ok, so I take it back... I expected to see the thumbnail in the file browser on my system. I see reading the wiki (go figure...) that it is supposed to display in the Startup workbench of recent files. And, indeed it does. But, I never have the Start up workbench in my list of active workbenc...

What puzzles me is the apparent randomness of the phenomenon.
Well...it's not random for me. It is 100% no thumbnail... 8-)

Re: Am I doing this Path Pocket Object from a shapestring correctly? it takes FOREVER

a minute for even a single letter? ooof. Also, when you say hundreds of splines, do you mean in the letter? or the path itself? When I opened the file it had a sentence. :) But I see you have only done the path on one letter. But, yes, splines are very compute heavy. I've done other fonts and don't...
