Question "What is the difference between Part WB & PartDesign WB ?" is recurrent and I think it should indeed be a good thing to have a Wiki page about this. Though you can find answers in the forum by searching these terms. "What is difference between Pad and Extrude ?" should find a logical answe...

No he's just the first one that will ask for system info and FreeCAD version info...because, otherwise those who attempt to help have no idea whether you are using a new version of FreeCAD, and old version of FreeCAD, or a develpement version of FreeCAD...and it does make a difference. 8-)

Try opening the stl in Blender. If it is wrong there, it's probably a problem...if not it's probably the viewer.

If my translation is correct and I understand... ;)

Move model in 3D view to the view you desire.

Then from the menu bar: TechDraw>Insert View.
