Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Ok that's nice of you. Just make sure Zanoni is in the loop, otherwise you risk going on a tangent that he doesn't approve of and, as is often the case with open-source software, end up developing you own code which has nothing to do with the original one anymore. I told him you go in touch with him...

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

We have potential students, yes, but sometimes projects can be divided in more parts.
Are you asking because you are interested?

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

Thanks for sharing your code.
I loaded the workbench but could not do much as the dialogs don't seem to do anything when I press "ok".
I'm on Linux, FreeCAD 18.4

Re: FreeCAD as pre-post procesor for MBDyn

MBDyn is once again participating in GSoC, so if a student (any level) is interested in further developing the FreeCAD-MBDyn interface and being paid for it, it would be time to start chatting with MBDyn's developers, in particular with the mentor (see link above).

Cycloidal Rotor Sketcher Constrained Animation

Screenshot from 2020-02-21 15-54-46.png Here is nothing spectacular, but rather because I needed to do Geometric constraint solving in a simple way. This allowed me to better visualize the mechanism for pitch control of a cycloidal rotor for my current project: A Novel and Simple Aircraft Requiring...

[BUG]: Draft.makeArray Polar Array

In the the Draft workbench, makeArray Python "constructor"-function does not allow direct construction of a polar array. This bug does not show from the GUI because it always first makes an orthogonal array and then converts it. I've created a bug report on the tracker and I am transcribing it here ...

Re: How to Copy Placement Data to another Part

I'll risk getting told its wrong again, but you're right... that would not work as a macro. It does from the Python console, "by hand", which is how I used it... because I just don't know of any "copy Placement" Gui operator. Yes, I could have made that clearer! Your comments about useless import an...

Re: How to Copy Placement Data to another Part

Thanks wandererfan for pointing this out. For those looking to copy the placement properties between objects from different documents, the script can be further elaborated as such: Seriously ? The topic ended 4 years ago !!! You import 'FreeCAD' in your script but don't use it. This is useless Your...
