As long as the impression is not created that freecad has caught something even though it did not do it, everything is ok and no unnoticed errors can occur.

Re: [workaround] (Dangerous) behavior from the sketcher

This is how it works on macOS and (currently, see above) on Ubuntu. I would prefer a point-on-object constraint for the third point as well, but tangent is ok too. I think there is some misundertanding. (If I'm correct) OP is specifically talking about behavior of 3-pt circle, not 3-pt arc. To me 3...

Re: (Dangerous) behavior from the sketcher

so that no damage occurs, I have removed the circle function from three points until the repair from the menu bar.

Re: (Dangerous) behavior from the sketcher

OK I looked at the video (several times) and now I think I understand. Probably there was some wrong terms used in the OP. Actually the problem is : "3-point circle geometry does not correctly handle automatic constraining at creation time". In the video, no automatic constraint is propos...

chrisb wrote: Tue Jul 27, 2021 1:23 pm If you alway make your sketches fully constrained, there is nothing dangerous. If you don't, there is always some increased potential for dangerous things.
I did that afterwards, but that didn't remove the error. you don't even notice it because you don't know the size of the step reference.

Re: Dangerous behavior from the sketcher

That's right, but I felt like I was far out of the window and told my customers that it was reliable. it is enough for me to switch off the circle with e points. i change the title I don't know what's the context of your business and who are your customers, but feeding them with development version...

Re: Dangerous behavior from the sketcher

something like that can shake the trust in freecad. I suspect it can be fixed. can i only switch off the circle function with 3 points for my customers until then? if yes how? Development releases are for... development. So you have to use it by accepting the risks (among which are bugs, regression...
