Re: Freecad from Snap does not export to /tmp
Most likely this is the Snap's sandboxing behaviour. You have access to your home directory but not system-wide ones. There is likely a /tmp within the sandbox environment but it's not where you are expecting it.

Re: FreeCAD Snap and Flatpack package error reading folders
easyw-fc You have a problem because someone using FreeCAD in flatpak format might also be using KiCad in flatpak format. The resources contained in one flatpak wouldn't be available in the other. One possibility that might help you is that KiCad as a flatpak is composed of a number of extension pac...

Re: FreeCAD Snap and Flatpack package error reading folders
I can't speak for Snap but I use Flatpak extensively (fedora Silverblue). flatpaks are isolated from the underlying operating system. /usr is present in the flatpak environment but it is provided by so-called runtimes and SDKs. Generally, the user's home directory is accessible but directories like ...

Re: 0.20 Is Workbench preloading feature broken?
Hi,
Oh, my misunderstanding.
That's a bit of a non-feature then. It's no hardship to select a workbench and then go to Edit|Preferences to configure it. Being able to pre-load workbenches at startup would be a real asset though.
ATB,
Neil

Re: Assembly3 issues
Hi,
Is the attached file what you were aiming for? I changed the elements to use the cylinder bottom face and the pocket curved surface.
HTH,
Neil

Not seeing Daily PPA updates
Hi,
I'm following FreeCAD snapshots from the Daily PPA. Updates have been sporadic recently. Is this due to an impending stable release or build problems?
TIA,
Neil

Re: Frustration with editing sketches.
There's nothing wrong with using sketches entirely for modelling but the PartDesign workbench supports that paradigm better than the Part workbench. The issue with making changes to previous features in the tree, or sketches which create them, is that you need to ensure that your changes don't break...

[Solved]Suggestion for better wording of Help|About FreeCAD|Credits
Hi, I noticed a recent commit which added labels to the Credits tab of the About dialog viz. People and Firms . Might I suggest that a more universal labelling might be Individuals and Organisations respectively. The reasoning for this being that "Firms" and "Organisations" are c...
