Re: Rotating an object in its own axix

Thank you All.

That was very helpful.

Regards,

p.s.: I only wonder why such a user-friendly option for Parts rotation/movement that was apparently available on FreeCAD 0.12 (as mentioned above) is not on newer version,

Re: Rotating an object in its own axix

HI all and thank you for your helpful hints. When i said 'object' I meant something I created, i.e. chair, desk, etc Another method is to double click on an object in the document tree. You then get an item around the shape and can drag and rotate the shape in 3D-space. In order to get rid of the dr...

[SOLVED] Rotating an object in its own axix

Hi again, Straihgt to the question, in case it wasn't clear from the topic title: How do I rotate an object in its axis? I thought it would have been as simple as changing degree in axis X,Y or Z however, when I do that it seems that the object rotates in space (maybe because I still don't have a cl...

Re: Organizing the Model

Hi triplus, thank you for the tutorial. p.s.: I can firmly confirm that the windows/snapping does not work on Slackware (with or without passive snapping selected). I believe it's because of some conflicts with the wall being joined as explained earlier. If I place a window/door on a single wall eve...

Organizing the Model

Hi again, I got the basic grasp of designing structures, walls and other objects, however following the tutorial as per my previous topic there is a section where it is mentioned about organizing you model. This might sound like a real newbie question, but I don't see how I can add groups and then a...

Re: Partition Walls

HI yorik, To merge two wall objects, you have several choices: you only listed two choices neither of which work, as you noticed yourself. Select one wall, CTRL+select the other, and press the "Arch Add" button. In your file, that doesn't work well, not sure why... I don;t see any Arch-> A...

[SOLVED] Partition Walls

Hi again, as a continuation of my last post, I think that there either must be a problem with inserting windows/door to an partition wall without the wall, or surface, behind being affected, or I have not done my homework correctly (if that is the case, please forgive me as I'm a newbie with FreeCAD...

Re: New window feature help

Thanks triplus, I have been wondering the same since the start of the project, and I was assuming that I could have scaled everything on a 100:1 Scale, so that the wall high 30mm would have been 3m and the windows' height of 12mm would have been 1.2m. But, I guess i'll start again using the real mea...

Re: New window feature help

Ok then,

how do you explain this?

I'll explain just to be sure. When placing a door on a wall it seems that the door has a tail, cos it takes over also the wall behind, (I hope that your computer shows exactly like mine, otherwise, it'll be very embarrassing)
