Re: Section Button not working in 019

Sorry, I've redrawn the part from scratch and it's working fine.. a workflow issue I think, but not sure what I did wrong.

Regards,

Jeff

Section Button not working in 019

Hi, Here's a strange one. It took me ages to learn that there was a 'section button' but having done so I now struggle to live without it. Consequently its a bit of a pain that it seems to have stopped working in my version of 0.19. This is the part I'm working on in 0.19, viewed from front/rear... ...

Re: Fillet Issues

Thank you Gene, I didn't know that it is not a good idea to combine different workbenches. Can you please point to any guidance on this matter in the documentation? Thanks, Michael I am still a Newbie, but I generally work in Part Design to produce objects and then the Part workbench to Cut, Compou...

Re: Removing text from design

Producing the text as a solid and then performing a boolean cut has worked for me. The process is covered here: https://wiki.freecadweb.org/Draft_ShapeString_tutorial You'll find a youtube tutorial covering the same part/process I believe. This uses Part Design/Part workbenches. Hope this helps. Jeff

Re: Complete and utter beginner

Hi Andrew, Can I ask what you're hoping to achieve in the way of finished output and how you plan to combine the 3D modelled and photographic aspects of the project? Not wishing to further steepen the learning curve but it sounds as though modelling may only be phase one of the project. If you're lo...

Re: Can't access object sketches to edit/fix

Thanks Roy_043,

I was going to say 'No, that's not it'... but it is... the disc is the result of boolean cut, where the original uncut object is hidden. If I unhide that I can see the sketch.

I need more coffee..

[Solved] Can't access object sketches to edit/fix

Hi, I think this might be broken beyond repair, but I'm living in hope that it might be recoverable. When I first modelled this part I thought i'd done a good job of working with datum planes and constraining everything. https://i.ibb.co/DYHLz6f/Disc.jpg Now I find that the sketch for the countersun...

[Solved] - Re: Datum Planes - Reversed Hole Direction

Thank you Bance/Reynard1066, There is no 'Hole Direction' option that I can see in the 'Hole Parameters' configuration tab, but having first produced the hole I found the option to reverse the direction under the 'Property' tab.... I should have looked there first. Would it be a sensible addition to...

[Solved] - Datum Planes - Reversed Hole Direction

Hi, I'm having issues with hole directions. When I wasn't following best practice and sketching on object faces I had no real problems, now I'm sketching on offset datum planes I sometimes have an issue with holes. This is using the Part Design workbench. If I draw a sketch and pocket, sometimes I n...

Re: Colouring Bodies in a Compound Mirror

Thanks Willem, Sorry, I used some vague phrasing and referred to 'Compound' when I should have said 'Mirror'. The compound retains its original colours, it's the mirror that I'm having problems with. The mirror is bottom/right in the image below, I can't see any way of getting to the individual elem...
