Re: sketcher: what does the option "Improve solving while dragging"

With this activated, when the point moves more than, if I remember correctly, 20 times the initial mouse drag movement (yes, this is a hard-coded value), the initial solution is recalculated, which is relatively costly. This heavily reduces unwanted results, but, in old equipment or very complex sk...

Re: sketcher: what does the option "Improve solving while dragging"

In the sketcher preferences there is the option "Improve solving while dragging". I want to document it but could not find out what it exactly does. There must be a drawback under some circumstances because otherwise, if it is for all cases the best solution, having this option would not be necessa...

Re: MPCNC: Trial with Pen

Thanks! In the meantime, I deleted the engrave operation and added a new one. The previous time I selected all the edges from the sketch. This time I just selected the sketch object and it went just fine. I have "draw" the result and it worked nicely. I am superhappy. What a wonderful job you guys a...

MPCNC: Trial with Pen

Hi! I have finished building my MPCNC and I have already tested with some gcode example. My tool is a pen, which has a final depth of -1 mm. I am trying to produce gcode for the gbrl postprocessor for an engraving operation of a sketch without success. I need some orientation. test-freecad-mpcnc.FCS...

Re: Feature request: CarbonCopy should use names for references

CarbonCopy uses the internal numbers for references. When substantial changes are made to the constraints, e.g. the first constraint is removed and another is added, then these numbers change. If names are used to denote the dimensionals constraints then some very intelligent algorithm replaces the...

Re: sketcher: changing dimensions collapses whole sketch to points

So, with 50 a circle is represented as a 50-sides polygon, with 100 by a 100-sides polygon.... Many thanks. I documented this now: Sketcher_Preferences Concerning further preferences questions I will start new threads, like I just did: https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=37608 As of to...

Re: sketcher: changing dimensions collapses whole sketch to points

I will have to ask you for help in new forum threads because I don't understand every setting. (e.g. the option "segments per geometry" is not clear and one cannot set this value below "50") Besides this, what about my proposal with a solver boundary. Do you think this is possible? Curves are appro...

Re: Body objects and errors in its features

PR: https://github.com/FreeCAD/FreeCAD/pull/2326 According to its execute() method there are two cases where the body itself is broken. The tip points to a non-PD object or the tip points to an empty shape I have departed from extending group functionality. I have done many tests, under the premise ...

Re: Body objects and errors in its features

Nice one, Abdullah! These hidden errors have got me at least a few times. I even implemented a check in PoM Exporter feature, that would pop up a message that there is an error anywhere in the dependencies, when exporting. Differentiating between the source of an error and derived broken objects is...
