Re: How to create BIM slabs from fusion faces

A bit of topic but still related... You seem to have quite a bit of experience with Grasshopper and I guess you have also worked a bit with Catia xGenerative Design, have you seen this https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=36299&start=40 ? Maybe you could help a bit microelly2, at least w...

Isn't "Active Topic" something that gives at least the basic functionality of that?

Re: Assembly3 preview

On the other hand, there are special code inside topo naming algorithm (especially for history back tracing and coloring) to deal specifically for external linked object. It will be more difficult to rip out that part of code than the other way round, because I did develop Link first. I understand ...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Huh ? You thought about LinkGroup as a container for parts, as replacement for App::Part ? That's going to be an uphill battle IMHO. Yes and this is how it was designed from the beginning, support for Part actually came later and this is exactly my point. I don't actually have much of a problem wit...

Re: How to create BIM slabs from fusion faces

Yes, I am working for 15+ years in architecture and understand what you are trying to do. Maybe you are expecting a bit to much from FreeCAD, a lot of it is still in research and development, it can be quite powerful (specially if you are good at coding) and has a lot of potential, but tools and wor...

Re: Assembly3 preview

Well, it seems to me that we are continuously trying to break this "assembly wall" with heads first approach and it is bringing us nothing but headache... If we really want to make FreeCAD work as it should then I would personally do a few steps back and try to do it in about this order: (not direct...

Re: Part-Extrude eines PartDesign-Sketchs, Merkwürdigkeiten mit X-, Y- und Z-Richtung

I have been saying from the beginning about this (the "wheels on the roof" problem). Part Design and Bodies are following an correct logic based on their current implementation (chrisb shows to correctly understand why it behaves as it does). BUT this is not how bodies should work! Wilfried, I respe...

Re: How to create BIM slabs from fusion faces

this is a simple version of a direction we should be going... - test01 allows you to play with the building (cone) sizes, levels heights and slabs thickens, - test02 is a small upgrade from test01 to allow you to play with the building shapes, - test03 is a small upgrade from test02 just to playing ...
