Re: Tutoriel sketcher by @chrisb / Version française
Beau travail !

Re: [Opinion needed][Sketcher] General settings management & behavior
Hello, I was not aware of all of these settings being local and/or global as I have never had the need to tweek them. I would agree with chrisb that these kind of settings would only need to be global as they are more user behaviour preferences for every sketches than a need for all indivudual sketc...

Re: Assembly3, A2plus, Assembly4? Get united!
What Assembly4 is lacking is a 3D solver, like A2+ or Asm3 (or DeepSoic's new solver), but even those would only be applied to datum objects in the parts. I understand your point but I don't think FreeCAD should impose a way of doing things. Especially for simple assemblies. And, afterall, if you h...

Re: Assembly3, A2plus, Assembly4? Get united!
I think Assembly3's "Assembly" constraint is exactly that. It just lacking Zolkos superb rotation-fix dialog (yet). However, Zolko had already pointed out that this "stability" is not really there until FreeCAD has not final solution of the TopologicalNamingProblem. So its a que...

Re: Assembly3, A2plus, Assembly4? Get united!
Thank-you very much, Fabrice, I've been hoping for such a side-by-side comparison for a long time. I won't defend Assembly4 (yes, it can do sub-assemblies, it was actually designed for that) Thank you for the answer, I will check that out. but I'd abuse your time a little more: could-you also stres...

Re: Assembly3, A2plus, Assembly4? Get united!
Hello, I am a mechanical engineer and have a good knowledge of PTC Creo (use at work) and a small knowledge of Solidworks. As I wanted to get a better overview of Freecad and assembly workbenches, I decided to model a small motor from this website : http://www.vapeuretmodelesavapeur.com/telechargeme...

Re: Discussion: FreeCAD is not ready for 1.0
I think it really depends on what you use CAD to do. If you work somewhere and your job is to design a load of parts that will fit together. Assemble them in CAD and check nothing clashes. Make a technical drawing including lots of hole call-outs, properly speccing tollerances, parallelism, etc. fo...

Re: Assembly3 preview
Thank your for your answers! [*]Is there a button to add a part to the assembly? Drag and drop is not very well supported on my machine It is not possible right now, but I can add that function. However, if drag and drop don't work then how do you add your existing parts? I would find the button a p...
