Re: New Workbench MeshTools now renamed 3D Printing Tools

Hallo mark1791, the functions are really helpful, especially after you've explained them to me. Because the adjustment of the scaling with the 2nd icon from the left works so well, the following consideration results: The print bed is not created square, but variable over X/Y/Z. The automatic scalin...

Re: New Workbench MeshTools now renamed 3D Printing Tools

Hi all, I like to use the WB regularly. It's really good to prepare parts for 3D printing, such as scaling and positioning. The following questions have arisen during use: How can I change the size of the printer's mesh box? I did not quite understand the option "Change default Die length size". It ...

The Saw tooth thread could have the advantage that it can be printed without overhangs. Like chamfers are printer friendly as opposed to fillets.
That was also the idea of @TheMarkster, as far as I can remember.

Re: Export STL script

I know Python and looking at the Python console in FreeCAD helps a lot to understand what's going on in the background. Still, before trying this I wanted to ask how I should approach this and where to start: Creating and exporting a mesh to STL format is something I do very often and it's always t...

Re: Creating different thread molding with the ThreadProfile WB

Which size have the threads from the images? The upper looks like M8 or M10, but I have no idea what size the lower one has. Do you have experience how small the threads can get? It's quite some time that I made some tests and below 5mm things became very, hm, lets say critical. The upper has M5, t...

Creating different thread molding with the ThreadProfile WB

Often it is the small inconspicuous things that make life easier. For me it is among other things the ThreadProfile Workbench. Normally no real threaded holes are inserted in the constructions. This also applies to screws, grub screws etc.. It's different now with 3D printing. Real threads are neede...
