Re: One Temporary Solution for FEM on Mac OSX with gcc version Problem

[*] MacPorts have been one way to install Calculix, as @ian.rees posted here years ago. I didn't try it, but I have read through that topic. It sounds exciting, and I hope he would come back to MacPort. ;) That's very unlikely. My (programming, mostly) job has been keeping me too busy, and have bee...

Re: OpenCAMLib Homebrew formula installation fails

Sorry, I've switched back to Linux and am swamped with "real job" besides.

(I've moved this topic to its own thread as it doesn't really fit on the original one, let's try to keep threads on-topic)

Re: USB Magellan Space Mouse

There has been some work ongoing in that area - see tsadowski's posts at https://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=29766&start=60 . I'm not sure what the current state is - I had a look at the PR some time back and saw there were more changes than I wanted to read through at that time...

Re: Library workbench

Hi fdomateu, I think the idea of a "part" in most of your post, is not really what the "part" in Part Design represents. My impression is that the second is a more general thing, which is meant to be created/modified in FreeCAD, but the first thing is more specific - like could b...

Re: FreeCAD SUCKS!

PS could a moderator change the title of this thread... I just don't like to add weight on this titled thread :P +1 I don't personally think that would be appropriate - lots of people have responded already, and part of what was responded to is the original subject. Changing that subject would take...

Hi aapo, and welcome to FreeCAD! Thanks for your report too!

Please attach the version info from your copy of FreeCAD - there's a nice writeup in the Help forum about how to get the right info in the proper format.

Re: Library workbench

Hi fdomateu, I've split this off from the topic that you originally replied to - it's really not related to that topic, which had been dead for a couple years. Please feel free to change the subject of this thread. I think you'll find that, it's probably a bit too much, to try and learn C++, the str...

Re: Unable to connect to SpaceNavigator with FreeCAD 0.17 on Fedora 28

I kept the option name SPNAV_USE_X11. The option has nothing to do with Wayland directly and the polling driver works under both window systems. Just to explain why I suggested USE_WAYLAND, in case it's educational (I spend/waste a lot of time dealing with state management like this, and so want to...

Re: Unable to connect to SpaceNavigator with FreeCAD 0.17 on Fedora 28

@ian You are of course right about communicating but I had some time and because it simply worked, I posted the result. No worries - was more suggesting that it would've been fine to drop me an email/pm. I had already done much of the same work, so could've shared that directly. @wmayer I will try ...
