Re: FreeCAD Logo Design

I'm not a graphic design professional, but AFAIK most fonts look better when rounded letters dip a little below the level of other letters and reach above them, so I've done a version slightly enlarging the cog:

I've also done a thorough clean up of the svg file.

Re: Coding style for C++

I know this topic is about C++ styling, but most points apply to Python too. I just love the second section of the python PEP8 styling guide. A Foolish Consistency is the Hobgoblin of Little Minds Anyone who insists that it is worth breaking backwards compatibility just to comply with a styling guid...

Re: Serious RANT !!!! Arrrgh

Ive not played with OpenSCAD, but I don't understand your problem. The value of 0 signifies NO LIMIT (as given in the hint). I would have thought that no limit is the best default. May be it would be good to make that more obvious by having the prompt as Maximum number of faces for polygons (fn). Se...

Re: error on Draft select plane

I've just tested. Can't reproduce the problem. I note that "Draft_SelectPlane" is defined in gui_selectplane.py. Maybe I don't understand how the CI works in relation to PRs, but won't CI compilations fail because of all existing coding style failures?

Re: Work on modern icon theme

I've just had a quick skim through your icons: I have to say you have produced some very clean and well formed SVGs. Beautiful work!
I wish all the other svg images in the project were that well created!

Re: Improvements in SVG

no,no dialog. It is painful everytime have to decide. Better have a option in system settings. There are one dialog when import saying the svg is not created by freecad, this should also be removed. Good point. I suggest the options in system settings should be those I've given in my dummy dialog i...

Re: Improvements in SVG

I also wonder when importing an svg whether it would be smart to show a dialog offering scaling choices

EDIT: typo - adobe default should be 72dpi

Re: Improvements in SVG

If I remember a previous conversation the problem is that the geometry created during import is composed of BSplines instead of simple straight lines, The conversion actually correctly converts lines BUT it then applies a matrix conversion which seems to change the lines to bsplines. By editing imp...

Re: Inkscape svg file convert to sketcher file

I've done a little investigation. Testing with import svg preferences setting "Disable Units Scaling" to true and using a slightly changed version of importSVG.py Here is the content of a cleaned up version of the file: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="no"?> <svg xmlns="http://www.w3...
