Re: distorted surface with loft

Playd a bit more. The surface looks really good if I decrease the Angular Deflection to 1.5°. Indeed both settings are giving a very very good result for creating my sheetmetal shapes (set them both to 1.0 so minimal material deformation) thanks Chris! Now that I know the end goal, try this, it was...

Re: distorted surface with loft

Thanks for the help guys! All 3 solutions aren't satisfactional, I am using unroll.FCMacro to get a surface sheet layout to cut and bend sheet metal and even the smallest distortion makes the macro bailing out, as workaround in the past I position a cone in a way it fits my sweep/loft and then cut b...

distorted surface with loft

Morning lads! When drawing a cone with off-set centers using 2 sketches and loft the surface off the solid gets distorted, is there a workaround or is it a bug? Re: problem with pocket trough fillet on recent builds

I get the idea but that's not possible for the milling machine: The CNC miller uses a 10mm oil groove tool for this piston (oil groove mill has a rounded tip same radius as the tool itself) so the undeep cut will have a 5mm radius in real life, if I add a fillet afterwards I can't go larger then the...

Re: problem with pocket trough fillet on recent builds

Thanks guys!!! That indeed did the trick (and explains some other stuff) but opens another question; Was there a recent version bump in opencascade since things like this worked in the past but not any more? Also now the following fillet doesn't work, a week ago it did: Schermafbeelding 2020-09-27 o...

Re: PSA XU9 intake runner

No, I export as step and the miller converts it, every machine has it's own tools and axles so that's not possible...

PSA XU9 intake runner

Here my intake runners for the PSA XU9 cilinder head with 2 Bosch EV14 injectors per duct. The outer shape looks a bit silly but the machine used was a 4 axle cnc milling machine where the 4th axle is a rotating head to clamp the base material so base was aluminium 7075T6 round 100mm and cut away ma...

Re: is folding a solid possible?

For making the part in real life I draw the bend sheet in sheetmetalWB, unfold it (lasercut the flattened uncut sheet, fit and adjust size if needed) and make the cuts afterwards and then do the final lasercutting. How do I install the modified sheetmetalWB? It's one of my most used WB's so I am eag...
