Re: Unified feature selection?
Technically one dialog may be difficult to implement due to the different environments in which it is called, but presenting always the same to the user would be highly appreciated. I wonder if you are referring to the selection mechanism in Path workbench - which I rate as a very good mechanism - ...

Re: Moving from CAM in Fusion 360 to FreeCAD Path Workbench
Can you post a sample that works with your fanuc controller? % ; 1003.nc (FREECAD-FILENAME-GOES-HERE, JOB-NAME-GOES-HERE) sorry I don't know about the fanuc controller but this looks a bit odd to me, % stands for what? ; is supposed to be a comment 1003.nc (...) filename and comment? maybe the filen...

Re: Adaptive on open pocket with holes/slots
If you make the extension wider so that the entire endmill can fit into the outer side the adaptive path will start on the outer side of the object - without plunging vertically into the material.

Re: Moving from CAM in Fusion 360 to FreeCAD Path Workbench
My 8mm aluminum feeders have cutouts and top / bottom pockets. FreeCAD/opencascade is building up complex situations over time within a single BREP structure itself. To resolve those situations someone can explode and sew the faces together again in the Draft workbench, that's how I got the loading ...

Re: Moving from CAM in Fusion 360 to FreeCAD Path Workbench
I'd still give freecad a good future, even though it has shortcomings in some area. If your object has lots of round shapes and you are under time pressure --- go for Fusion 360 If it's a rather simple object and you have time to get into it go for FreeCAD. I designed an SMD Pick and Place machine w...

Re: Intersecting Holes (BOPAlgo_InvalidCurveOnSurface)
BOPAlgo_InvalidCurveOnSurface I'd explain it as there's a surface and on that surface there's a calculated line which actually does not entirely match the surface. Problems are usually in a range which a user cannot identify visually. If you get into surfaces a little bit more it's still a "hot...

Re: Where are paths rendered to 3d-view?
What do you mean with not correctly rendered? In my case the path for my custom command didn't get rendered at all until I modified PathSegmentWalker.cpp. I added a custom command to linuxcnc (I'm using the B axis stepper motor to turn the spindle), G84.1 in order to make it visible in FreeCAD I had...

Re: Adaptive toolpath part incursion bug in 0.20.2
Honestly what kind of community is that where bugfixes are ignored? The patch was authored on Dec 22, 2021 (now we have 2023) the bug is still there. I don't want to be unfriendly but the solution is available and all that is being discussed here are workarounds? That's clearly a sign that something...
