@jlondon53: 3D modelling is closer to machining than to drafting. Think about the part that you want to make like you had a block/cylinder (or other shape) of a raw material, then you want to cut this surface, drill a hole there.

As least part of the negative comments suggest misunderstanding of parametric modelling ("small change breaks my model"). Complaining about "FreeCAD being impenetrable even with previous experience" suggest limited previous experience :D . I did AutoCAD-->Bentley Microstation migration and it caused...
