Re: [19/07/21][LinkStage3][UI] Vertical UI

Hello, I have been trying to get Vertical UI up and running. So far I have only been partially successful. I am on Windows10 with FreeCADLink installed (FreeCAD-asm3-Stable-Win64-Py3-Qt5-20210717.7) The default FreeCAD is a fresh install of the official 0.19.2 download (FreeCAD-0.19.2.7b5e18a-win-x...

Re: UI Improvements / Vertical UI Proposition

I've released a video on how to set this UI up in FreeCAD Linkstage3 and added written instructions.
Forum post up in General discussion, as this is not related to the original FreeCAD.

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

Our views do not align at all. And I'm not going to respond to "so what?" questions and I'm not going to defend people who share their work just so they can be called egoistic and 'potentially' with a hidden agenda to somehow become rich and famous by suggesting an Icon. It's all utter no...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

We make progress every day on this software without taking a vote. Quality work generally stands on its own. But if you want to make big changes in the code or profound changes to our image you better have a long history of demonstrated commitment. I've seen the work you've been doing on the UI in ...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

If there's one thing we've learned about voting on the internet it's this; Don't let the internet vote. There's some truth to this... I'm not sure it really universally applies but then again look at the dumpster fire that is reddit. A vote needs to happen, one way or another, otherwise, nothing is...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

Maybe we should start by a vote/discussion about changing or not the logo ? Oh ! and the winner must change all FreeCAD icons according to his new logo design :geek: That's actually a great idea, the first one. But that would need to be done in a very objective way. Oh ! and the winner mu...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

I think you miss the 45 pages of comment of logo discussion here: https://www.forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=28941 That is where logos go to die. :D It's like the suggestions box at the local government building. For logo discussions to have any structure of sense, there needs to be ...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

There's voting. Do you really think that'll put an end to the issue? ??? While we're at it, let's use a bicycle for a ladder. Why the patronizing tone? I already said it was an unpopular opinion. My point is that the design exists in an ecosystem. What if I want to incorporate a logo inside a desig...

Re: Possible New FreeCAD Logo

There are people who appreciate aesthetics and people who are impartial to it. There are almost no people who HATE what's universally considered good aesthetics. And people who do appreciate aesthetics want everything to look nice, because 1kg of poop can ruin 100kg of jam. And it's not because of ...
