Re: sketcher: wrong redundancy solving with symmetry

The symmetry constraint means same distance from axis in same height and this is exactly what these 2 points should have. It is confusing for me that I should use other methods, depending on the state of the sketch. My understanding is that FC offers the symmetry constraint and then it should work ...

Re: Exporting is a pain

On Windows, I can type "*" into filename box and hit Enter, to make it display all existing files. FreeCAD uses native windows file picker. This trick works pretty much everywhere..

What about something like that :
not_attached_icon.svg.png
If you remove one of the pieces of the ring, that icon looks like a bar stuck to a magnet. That may actually be a good new icon, as it has that "placement" association to it.

Re: Marking PartDesign not properly attached datums

the icon is ... awful. :lol: Looks like front view of a car, so can't give an obvious meaning to that. :) Existing icon seems quite clear to be an electrical plug :lol: so many interpretations https://www.freecadweb.org/wiki/images/3/3e/Part_Attachment.svg My intent was to depict a bug clinging ont...

Re: Marking PartDesign not properly attached datums

But would it be equally useful for all the different FC users (architecture, fem, civil, mechanical,...)? IMO it would maybe be a bit over-engineered. I think yes. Moreover, if object is not attachable, no icon is displayed. The overlay real-estate is getting crowded. Tip, touched, error, latent er...

Re: Marking PartDesign not properly attached datums

update: such an icon can be a serious shortcutter. For example:
* double-click opens attachment editor
* right-click opens context menu with quick actions related to attachment, such as "Edit attachment", "Enable", "Disable", "Detach", "Highlight support objects"

Re: Edge with one Vertex, Curve type not defined

Hi! You can find such edges at the poles of a sphere primitive. I'm not exactly sure what are they for, but I have a guess: There is a strict correspondence between edges of a bounding wire and edges of the wire's representation in parameter space. For a sphere, parameter range is a rectangle, but t...

Hmm, I am pretty sure I promptly deleted my reply after reading the thread a little bit and realizing the post is useless... Well, now it's here to stay. Sorry about the noise.
