Hi all, I imported an stl (within seconds) and now try to convert to solid via part convert mesh to solid. Because the geometry has a larger number of vertices/edges/face this proces takes already some hours and it is still 10 more reported to take. Is there a faster way to do this conversion, e.g. ...

i need to fit through 3 sections at least, otherwise it results in a straight interpolation. But if I split uo in sections of three, I end up having kinks there (as it is not smoothly continued at the connection - which is logical).

So how is the approach to solve all this? Any ideas?

I now added some further cross sections and have now problems with loft. After some experimenting I thought it would be the safest approach to use all the same objects per cross sections (3 splines one line). See what happens - looks like a bad mobile and definitly does not respect the outline / hei...

You have been right. Prefernces> part designer> reduced both settings -> now its ok.

Hi, please find attached the new file: i added skteches C1 2 and 3 which are cross sections as I need them (added channel to th bottom of the board). I constructed the point for exact location using 2 extra sketches, e.g. c1_1 and c1_2 which use straight lines, with the end point placed at the splin...

like in this version (with only 3 cross sections): and the width and height + related position determined by the outline and sideview curve

got it: you extruded the sketches and boolean commoned them.

BUT: what I need to do is to add different crosssections in the XZ Plane to define the concave, tugged under edge etc.
Then loft over all these cross sections
