Re: Bad value not filtered - FreeCAD hangs/crashes

I'm interested in seeing how this works, could you possibly give me a hint for finding where in the code the property update is handled (i.e. the event that is triggered by changing a property value)? If you're using the Qt mechanism I guess I'm looking for the signal and slots that are involved. I ...

Re: Bad value not filtered - FreeCAD hangs/crashes

I hate to drag up an old thread, but I see this same issue in a recent AppImage. I start typing in the deviation box but have to delete the previous value, when I get to the point that the text: "0." is in the box, FreeCAD locks up. I assume this is because zero or some smallest possible value has b...

Re: Inconsistencies in Part API *At methods

It seems you made the assumption that for the parameter 0 you get the curve's start point and with the value of its length you get the end point. This assumption is wrong! The parameter range in which a curve is defined do you get with the attributes FirstParameter and LastParameter. It depends on ...

Inconsistencies in Part API *At methods

I was attempting to improve the docstring for some Part api functions, but ran into some trouble. I've noticed that the behaviour of the valueAt, tangetAt etc. functions is not consistant. Consider the code and output below: import Draft import Part from FreeCAD import Vector bez_edge = Draft.makeBe...

Trouble with fuse, freecad crash on step export

Hello, Im having trouble with boolean union on some shapes. I have managed o boil the problem dow to two solids, see the attached file. Running checkgeometry on these shapes says they have no problems. When I fuse then, the resulting shape also has no errors according to checkgeometry, however, it d...

Re: permanet setting of pathes to extern modules

I solved the same problem by creating a new wokbench called Run Startup Script, which you can do by putting the following code in a file in .FreeCAD/Mod/Run_Startup class RunStartupWorkbench (Workbench): # Icon generated using by converting linearDimension.svg to xpm format using Gimp Icon = ''' /* ...

But in FC.17, quick and dirty. Maybe your rail-woodworker did it the same way.
This looks pretty good, I'll have a closer look later thanks.

Re: How to create a handrail scroll/volute shape based on fibbonacci?

Also it looks like the large file size was caused by the corrupted shape, I've attached a file with the subshapes to be fused created by the script

Re: How to create a handrail scroll/volute shape based on fibbonacci?

Hi, but the fuse fails, or at least the resulting geometry has errors. I think this is an OCC limitation or bug. I haven't run your script, but just based on your screen capture I'm pretty sure it would fail on most CAD programs, at least in Solid Edge which I use at work the sweep tool would almos...
