Bance wrote: Tue Apr 20, 2021 6:29 am Form the cleat then fuse it with Fusion(better use some names here.)

Note you will have to delete and remake the clones, unless the cleat connects to them as a single object, then fuse them with it.

Make sense?
Yes. Thanks. I'll give it a try.

Bance wrote: Tue Apr 20, 2021 12:20 am I don't understand what it is you want.

If I modify E.G. the depth of the panel, "core" from 19.05 to 12 it updates in fusion and both clones!
No. I want to add a "cleat" down the middle of the core, a six cube as part of the subassembly.

Re: How do I get started making parts?

Just go to the part in the tree and change it, everything should adjust after. Post your file, its awfully hard to see what you've done to offer any advice. Sorry. I'm so used to working with huge files that posting documents to a forum like this feels wrong. I want to add another piece to Tool Bas...

So, if I now want to revised the fused part, how do I un-fuze it? I had to use "union" to "fuse" so I'm really not sure what name to be looking for. Thanks.

Re: How do I get started making parts?

You should probably fuse the parts into a single solid first. I kind of assumed that. (In Dia, I'm used to grouping a few primitives to make something I can manipulate as a whole.) But I can't find the tool or technique to do that in FreeCAD. EDIT:- Here is an example of a 4 panel door, it is not c...

What I described I've done many times.

Please post your file.
Sure.

Thanks. I'm not sure why -- or how -- I'd use Part Design. I'm surely new to FreeCAD but Part seems the natural way to go here.

Re: How do I get started making parts?

Clone is disabled if there is a task in progress. As an indicator you see a pencil near the "Task" text in the tab near "Model". No, I don't see a pencil. If I click the Task tab, there is a section that says "Start part" with an item below it that says "Create bo...

Re: How do I get started making parts?

Agreed, you should update to the latest version. If for no other reason than 0.18 is thousands (no exaggeration) of fixes and improvements behind. Which is fine except when I search for a way to install 0.19, the last notes say that the installer isn't ready yet. I would not use copy, I would use c...
