Ah, ok. thanks everyone. I see my version wasn't so elegant = ) I like how's there's different ways to come up with the same answer. I did use the poly like with the M key for some of it but just kind of made a mess as I went along. Thanks again!

I was thinking of taking a step back and actually scanning a positive plaster model of a dog leg and then using that as a reference within FreeCA...

If you're going to be doing this often it could be sensible to build a sort of lazy susan to spin the object on while the phone is mounted nearby. The phone mount should be constructed such that its height can easily be adjusted, perhaps on an arc where it can also get a top down view of the object...

Just adding more info for those curious. It was scanned with Scaniverse as someone mentioned above. They have both a lidar and pictometry option. I initially thought lidar would be the way to go but apparently that is only useful for larger objects such as rooms and the pictometry is better for smal...
