Re: The FreeCAD Project Association

Again just my opinions not official in any of my roles. The FPA is an advocacy group. As asked before we hope to be a legal non-profit that can allow entities to donate with whatever tax implications. We have a charter now, so the next step is to set up a bank account. Anyone with specific knowledge...

Re: Building Debian package

This question is still very relevant. Source code on Salsa is pretty outdated, so I'd like to know if it's possible to package a deb file using the code from the Github. The FreeCAD PPA uses a "recipe" https://code.launchpad.net/~freecad-maintainers/+recipe/freecad-daily-dual-build Basica...

Re: The FreeCAD Project Association

Thanks everyone for the valuable feedback. I’m, a member of the FPA, a FreeCAD forum Administrator, a code contributor, and a member of the community at large. The following is my personal opinion, not “official” in any of my roles in the project. I think we're all aware that this project has some t...

Re: Addon Manager Dependency Update

I believe these should all be available in the Win builds and Libpack, with the exception of the git executable. This is best installed from https://git-scm.com/downloads

What is a good add-on to test? One that has a good requirements.txt file.

Re: Running pip from within FreeCAD

I think numpy is optional, in that it's only required by some workbenches, so if you compile without them it may be missing. This is true. But for a long time we have pulled in numpy because it is a dependency of matplotlib. See for example the Debian Control file https://salsa.debian.org/science-t...
