Wire EDM CAM/Path extensions.
We're investigating option of paying someone to add some Wire EDM code generation options in Path module. We have Charmilles Robofil 380 for testing. With full programming documentation. What is needed: 1st stage: 2D operations - postprocessing contour path - adding wire threading and wire cutting p...

Re: DraftSight 2019 no longer free
Somebody started making 2D CAD in QT/C++ as tool for LinuxCNC: https://forum.linuxcnc.org/41-guis/3676 ... ?start=110 . And judging by the icons, he knows about FreeCAD.

Re: Rename Arch workbench?
Maybe little off-topic, but one idea came to my mind. I think FreeCAD needs something above Workbenches. AFAIK NX had something like "Roles" and I would go similar way. Each "Role" should have defined default activated workbenches, shortcuts and their own workflow. There could be...

Re: FreeCAD game
It's easy to do sth similar in V-REP (or other robot simulators), but with working dynamics and collisions :). Maybe a little off-topic, but i'd love to see sth like V-REP or Gazebo built upon FreeCAD. It could be used not only for robot simulations but also for simulation of some production lines w...

Re: What's new in PartDesign Next
One thought on assembly itself. Part keeps together [...] a set of objects that are to be moved together during assembly In Solid Edge (my preferred CAD) assembly works in that way. Multi-body part, by default is inserted into assembly as one piece (yes, I know that there is export of multi-body par...

Re: Possibility of a Kinematics workbench
http://forum.freecadweb.org/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=10747&p=87693#p87693 As I mentioned in linked topic, I'm thinking that using FC as pre/post is good idea. Look also at HOTINT, I didn't try it but looks good on screenshots. About Bullet and ODE: I used them in V-REP. Altough, they are working ...

Re: Sheet metal workbench and Open Source idea
By "proper" i mean talk directly with companies or people that will use it. When i started working as mechanical eng. i was amazed that some companies are still using autocad as their main cad (small shops that are making the same things for 20 years). And sometimes they are buying SolidWo...

Re: Sheet metal workbench and Open Source idea
I would pay and I think, with proper adversating, more ppl would, too. AFAIK base versions of ZW3D, Alibre and Solid Edge don't have sheet metal modules. I know lot of companies that builds machines and for 95-99% they are satisfied with base version of software but there is always that 1% case, whe...

Re: Automotive Chassis / Kinematics
I was thinking a little about Dynamics workbench earlier and i made some quick research. I've got some experience in using alike software. I would divide whole Dynamic Simulation into two independent parts. Dynamics workbench istelf would be preprocersor that can export scenes as input files for ext...

View/navigation control feature requests.
For starters: I'm checking FC development from time to time, and I'm fully aware about current status of this software. Just, there are some little things that are killing me every time when i want to try new version. Things that weren't changed at least from version 0.12 and nobody was even (at lea...
