Meshlab quad mesh to Freecad (without triangles)

Hi, I have an very fine scan data of a bone, and want to create a 3D CAD solid to following my workflow. The initial data was an STL file with about 9e6 triangles, so I have opened with Meshlab, reduced the quantity of triangles to about 6000, export as STL and using Artmesh convert it to a full qua...

Re: SheetMetal WB migration to 0.17

Hi, have tested today the Sheet Metal module and find it very usefull and easy to understand. Can you add a tool to create the initial flat pannel directly in the Sheet Metal module?

Best regards, and thanks for this great module.

Re: CalculiX 2.12 Available

Thanks for the build. Have you investigated on compile on Windows using the CalculiX Extras

https://www.openaircraft.com/calculix-extras/

Wil be very good to have output results in Exodus format to postprocess in Paraview.

Regards!

Re: Idea/Feature request on Pad a selected sketch

I did some models last week and none of the fillets/chamfers survive an update of the model, guess that now I'm start to understand the reason, thanks for the advice and explanation.

Re: Idea/Feature request on Pad a selected sketch

I didn't do too much use of FreeCAD by the moment, but what kind of problems can give to have the refine preference turn on? I did it because after doing some pads starting with an in face sketch, then I finish with a splitted face, and normally in others CADs the faces gets combined automaticly. If...

Idea/Feature request on Pad a selected sketch

Hi, I'm using Freecad to create models for FEA, and normally for appying boundary conditions is needed to divide/split a face. Normally while I model I have checked the preferences to refine the model (to keep surfaces continuos) after boolean operations, but for create this face splits what I do is...

Re: Assemble pieces in Part

Hi, I tried this weeek to work with my first real assembly on FreeCAD. My first try was to make every part as a separated file, as I usual do with other CADs, then I make a new empty part and merge (File/Merge Project...) the components. I work a little, find a way to posicionate (Edit/Placement... ...

Re: CalculiX results 'frd' to Paraview 'vtk' converter

Hi, somebody has tried this converter? With my frd when they are converted there are some variables (individual displacements, V. Misses, Max/Min Principal stress) that doesn't appear on Paraview. captura_005.png Regards, and thanks in advance. *Edited:I found the individual displacements :D :D :D :...

Re: Typical structural & heat conduction FEM cases

Hi Kuroshivo, we are almost neighboards!!! I live in Argentina also (Tigre, Buenos Aires), and work as independient consultor for CAD and FEA. If you need some models you can look at my own site, 90% of this were preprosseced in Mecway (that at the end of the day do the mesh with Netgen), and solved...
