Re: STEP to Solids Workflow - Tubes Again
I agree with @heda, I have been in this same situation (modeling and analyzing cages) and crashed with a big and hard wall. Even if you manage to get a complete solid model of the cage to extract the external faces and do a shell mesh, then you will have to fight with the mesher (netgen or gmsh) to ...

Re: New Bill of Materials workbench
This is a very usefull tool, very needed for the normal work with assemblies. Just one question, why this (and others similar) is a new workbench and not a kind of macro o tool that can be included in the actual or different assemblies workbenches? Why adding another workbench?

Re: STEP to Solids Workflow - Tubes Again
@heda , how could be your macro edited to get the points of the selected geometry (tube) and not for the whole model?

Re: Human / humanoid body Workbench (makeHuman)
The model is this from some user in Grabcad. I have dowloaded as step and recreate all the constrains in Solidedge at work. In my opinion, this model could be taken as example, but a new one made in FreeCAD should be done, so then would be easier to parametrize the heigh/weight/sex https://grabcad.c...

Re: STEP to Solids Workflow - Tubes Again
Hi, this tube looks like a security car cage. I have worked in the past with several of this structures/cages, even creating the cad models in FreeCAD. My advice is to use FreeCAD (or Salome) to create first a set of curves that defines the center line of all tubes, and then use this lines to create...

Re: Human / humanoid body Workbench (makeHuman)
I have used in the past the Siemens NX (former Unighraphics), they have a human creator utility that let you choose the height, size, sex and allow you specify the position, this was usefull for ergonomics analysis. I have downloaded fom Grabacad a simplified human assembly model, and then in Solide...

Re: Entry point not found error with the newest Windows weekly build
I´m having a similar issue, have downloaded the last dev Windows version in two diferente computers and days, and first 7zip tolds me that there are some files that cannot be unpacked, and if I try to open the FreeCAD executable the same error message, about the entry point. Regards, and thanks in a...
